Well, when a user inverts the list, then the up and down arrows should respect that, too. Currently inverting the list and using the up and down arrows is confusing. The selected item moves down when pressing up and vice versa! At least this behavior needs to be a fixed.

Did you try to use the upper right (pink) reorder arrows, when sort and/or invert was activated, too?

I see where you are coming from. The issue is, that those two grid colors seem to be the last missing non-controllable theme options I found. Sure, we can just say, no more theme additions, while from my point of view this would hit ourselves, because theming is not complete here.

@Remigiusz I'm not sure if I grasp the idea behind the Navi suggestion. We have the Pie Menus which you could customize to your needs.

Could you add an example blend file for testing it?
@michael knubben (michaelknubben) Whoo, wait wait... I didn't say "wasted time".. what I think is, that most of the current mockup goals can be reached by adding some UI editing properties:

Is this solved with Blender 2.72a ?
I think the current UI is quite good and flexible. Implementing all those UI elements is to much effort in one direction. Just making Embos globaly editable with alpha value would be a copmpromize without loosing current flexibility. It shouldn't be so difficult to implement and theme designers can then decide on flat or embos designs.
