The fix was committed only to the release 2.81 branch, also please merge fix to the master.

I did more testing on Scene1_AA flickering. To solve most flickering left I had to increase samples 1024 and the film increase "Filter Size" to 2.0 to soften the thin highlights.

I have tested a number of archviz scenes from realistic archviz the PCF quality is a little more accurate than VSM. The issue is It requires more samples to get it them completed soft a minimum 256 or more. This makes the eevee render take longer time, especially in heavy scenes.

Clement great improvement in the temporal AA with soft shadows. In Scene2_AA the temporal AA is complete fix along as their is enough samples.

Another test for "Scene1_AA_eevee". Render image frame 2 and frame 3 in different slots. Compare these two frames and notice how the highlight switches between edges. These is causing the flickering in animation. Render the image frames again with Soft Shadows OFF. Notice their is no highlight switches between edges.

I discover that it is the contact shadows "Softness" settings" that is making all object darker.

I just check the latest 2.80 build hash "a5b5bd2c24e0" for the missing cycles sun light sun and it's work fine now.

Same problem. I remove the commit dec9c7d87e5b "Eevee: Implement Texture coordinate from object" by Clément Foucault. This solves this crash.
This commit is causing a crash when switching to texture/render mode see task T63115 for example file. I also have Eevee files crashing with this issue.

I don't know for sure if it is a NaN, but when I change the black color of all zeros to a red color the problem is fixed. I am using standard nodes that I are supported in Eevee and it works fine in Cycles.
