I made a clean install, nuked all settings and deleted every files from Users folder and remade all hotkeys from scratch. It took a while but it seems that RC2 version is working fine for me now with addons. I do experience crashes however, but very rarely and unable to reproduce the logic of those and it's relatively stable to work for quite a long time now. I guess this thread can be closed, as I can't understand the exact reason of those crashes happening previously, therefore cannot produce exact steps to replicate the bug, so that something could be done.

Have you tried reproducing this with Factory Settings loaded?
If you start with Factory Settings (then set auto-save to 1m) and the default scene and just start modeling on the cube can you get it to fail?
Have you run with auto-save turned off for enough time to be sure that there are no problems in that case?
Perhaps it's also possible that what's happening is that something else is corrupting your document and it's just the auto-save that trips over it.
I played around for 20m or so (also on Windows 10) without being able to reproduce it. Are there specific operations that you're doing frequently or that seem associated with the crash that I can try?

Might this bug be related to something connected to Windows permissions and be Windows specific only? I had weird bugs with proprietary addons that I've purchased, some of them glitched on Windows when executing certain Python commands, especially the ones related to deletion or editing the blend files and etc. I had to report bugs to developers and we worked on work-arounds in code together but we also failed to specifically "catch the bug" with logs so that we could report it on this platform. Crashes appeared to be so random and Windows specific...

Still have to read upon the whole matter [where toolsettings are actually displayed if you hide them from the header -- are they supposed to be shown in the Properties Editor > Active Tool & Workspace Settings > cant see editmode toolsettings there...?], I can imagine this is still WIP?
Anyways, being able to bring them back easily once hidden sounds important, maybe we should integrate the header menu into the VIEW3D_MT_view [since this is now per editor]?

I guess the global header toggle just needs to be removed...
Actually there needs to be a easier way to bring the the tool setting back. The only way in the viewport is to right-click close to a header icon...

As to the latter part of your P.S.
You can 'fake' a top bar by having a 3D View and only showing a header, then Ctrl spacing to full window and back, might help your workflow a little bit...

That's not a bug. Load factory settingsor delete your current custom hotkey py files in preferences and assign a new one again or manually correct your custom hotkeys py file. I had this problem before, it emerges because of API changes in recent builds and your custom hotkey py file that you load up on startup which causes conflicts because it's referring to old api commands that don't exist anymore.

I think I got what causes that, it's the user's custom hotkeys files (again, I had the similar problem with right-click context menu not popping up on right-clicking an object last time due to renaming a week ago) that migrates from version to version, probably there were renamings in selection commands again =(. It makes my custom hotkey files obsolete with every build, should it work like that? Will this happen in the stable version too? I'll probably have to remap everything from scratch now. I don't want to sound spoiled but that's a days work every time I migrate to a newer build, maybe something could be done to custom hotkey file management in preferences? =((

I got to the bottom of it. It was the renaming of object_context_menu command between different versions, It was _specials previously got renamed to context_menu. I've found and renamed respective commands in hotkey .py files and it started working. Should this thread be opened or closed? I don't know if it considered being a bug or not, I guess not, but I imagine that some users can have similar problems when switching versions and using old hotkeys.

I've tried deleting hotkey commands for VIEW3D_MT_object_specials and VIEW3D_MT_object_specials in MY_HOTKEYS.py file and there's no more error pop-ups. And right-clicking not working it's just not appearing like there's no hotkey bind to it. Only if I switch Standard Blender Hotkey mapping it works fine. I guess it happened due to a rename of that right click command between versions or something? Hmmmm. Still trying to attempt my old hotkey file to work, as I don't want to lose all that customization.

It did fix the issue with right-clicking menu not appearing. But the issue persists as soon as I load up my custom hotkey .py that I exported before doing factory reset and planned on importing back after the reset as it is quite a hassle to remember all my custom hotkeys. So I think the reason for this bug are custom hotkeys files that load up when you migrate from one version to another. But this also means that I'll have to manually reassign all the hotkeys now as I fail to identify which of the hotkeys causes that and I have a quite a different hotkey set from the standard given one =((.

You have different Subdivision count in render vs viewport. Set the same subdivisions for both render and viewport and they will look the same.
Pointiness depends on the geometry, on the difference of angles of the faces. The more subdivided something is the less difference there's from face to face, so pointiness becomes weaker and weaker.

Also please note that for some reason, when I capture the video, the flickering (black screen) is being recorded/captured for a couple of seconds (I guess when the flickering appears OBS( software that I've used to capture the video) has to reconnect to the monitor to start recording again that's why there's a bigger lag ), when in reality it just a fraction of a second of a black screen. But, as you can see in the video, preferences window and quit window prompts are still appearing behind the main window in full-screen mode and black screen flickering is still being present.

I've created a scene with multiple objects and crazy amount of materials and applied it to different objects, and it works fine. For some reason, the bug appears to be present in that particular blend file, I don't know what is the cause (most probably object refers to a restricted GPU memory address when applying several materials for some reason), I guess I'll just create a new scene and import mesh from that blend file or export mesh and import to a new scene, maybe it will fix the problem.

That is such a random bug... It works on certain types of geometry in the scene, for example, if I create a new scene with a cube and then try applying materials to it it will work fine. But when I work in that specific scene that I've originally attached and apply materials on certain objects it gives the error always resulting to EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION and the same address in the cmd log. I've made another video of the bug, I apply multiple materials on one object successfully, but when I apply multiple materials on other objects it crashes. I've tried also clearing all data from the objects, but it still crashes in the same fashion.

Hi! Thank you for your reply! I've done a clean install of the latest Nvidia drivers on my system and rebooted the system. Then tried again and stumbled across the same issue, it crashes upon adding more than one material and assigning it to face of a mesh, or sometimes when you create a new material. I've started blender through cmd line using both "--debug-gpu" and "--debug-gpu-force-workarounds" commands, but it crashed again. I've recorded a video of the crash and also saved the error output from the cmd window into two separate text files.

Hi! Sorry, seems that the bug might have been caused by something else, I couldn't replicate it afterwards.
