what about bevel weights? should it be there in edit mode?
The re implementation of the HDR and world map modes, which were in my opinion overly complex in the previous version, but maybe they fit others’ use cases. The shader part can definitely be simplified using the new gpu and gpu_extras modules, but I’m not sure about the UI.

@Lawrence D'Oliveiro (ldo) thanks, I'll take a look, there's not much going on with .3ds, It's mostly unmaintained apart from @andreas atteneder (atti)'s interest. I'm happy to add fixes to keep it working whilst it's in contrib. I've been testing it with some nasa models which is fun. I'll test your transform patch with a few files from different sources. It may be another week or so before I get to this.
Keep in mind that over the many years I've used sites like archive3d for models, there was always issues with some files.
at one stage I was testing Blender against a couple of other programs to test the .3ds. some files failed either way, some were better in blender, some were better in other programs. *reading your linked task

hi the screencast addon is maintained outside of Blender, there's a couple of versions around iirc. I'm not sure what the issue here is. We originally removed this addon from Blender some time ago due to issues with holding down keys or rapid key presses. Your also trying to do a key press during a modal op. I tried that too and it did not work properly either. You could try to contact the author of the addon and report an issue.

I tried quickly to draw a room in top view, I did find it does not work so great with leaving gaps for doors but it worked as expected for me with a closed mesh.

hi, unable to reproduce here. what addons do you have enabled? node custom builder? what is that one? Possibly that's the culprit?
Please check the Enabled button to show all enabled, make sure only built in or bundled addons are in the folders or enabled. (fresh build no extra addons)
Let us know what's the results.

I think it's most likely needs a recalc normals outside.

Some stats. We started off with:
123 release addons in 2.8
82 contrib addons 2.8
We now have:
95 release addons in 2.81
43 contrib addons in 2.81
This gives us a 32.5% reduction in the total number of addons included. Pretty close to a 1/3 reduction.
67 addons removed entirely from the repo's. This is including addons that have arrived or are new in 2.8/2.81 so the reduction in old addons is slightly higher.
The majority of the work is done here with some stragglers in contrib to find more information on and a couple of known incoming updates.
Some more removals may follow, however there will not be the noise of the past few days.
are you changing any settings? I followed your example an had no error, exported with vert color and imported back with vert color.

hopefully fixed the load tests by unique naming simplify curves addon. currently curve tools has several ui elements failing. curve fillet, divide and scale reset.
got some crashers here, breaking addons tests enable/disable failing, duplicated curve simplify functions. enable/disable the addon or enable then run load factory preferences with curve simplify enabled.

hi, I cannot confirm this issue. To be honest nothing like this was reported during or recently after 2.79b release. Currently this tracker is focusing on bugs in the 2.8 series. It's unlikely any time would be spent solving and back porting a fix to 2.79 at this stage or any future stage I think. I guess as addons devs we can only do so much until proper decisions and functions are in place. I saw this some time ago with the original layer manager addon by fourmadmen. My argue then for the Layer Manager addon was simple: We don't have this functionality, here's something to help users on the way until it gets built in. I'm about to remove the old Layer Manager addon from Blender as it's broken and unmaintained in it's current form. It was with this in mind that I asked @Ryan Inch (Imaginer) to submit his addon here.
I see this as a good opportunity to both examine the new methods and make a reasonable attempt to provide something if needed. No doubt the core devs will come up with a solution and all will be well at some stage. Possibly they may use some of the elements in "Collections Manager" addon, maybe it will be completely different. Here we are providing thought and working concepts.
I would say unless there's anything else planned that we could promote this addon to Addons Contrib for wider testing and feedback in nightly builds some time in the near future. with the aim of supplying functionality until it's built in. Not to replace or be a complete solution to the layers issue. Just as a helper for users who might need or make use of some of the functions early.

hi, @Spivak Vladimir (cwolf3d) Curve Tools is looking the best it has in years. Thank you. If you feel this is something you would like to add to and maintain in release your welcome to. It would be good to add before the 13th or we'll push back again until 2.82.
I see there's some poll issue with fillet and divide not working on created surface in edit mode. *the buttons are not grey out, not sure if it's supposed to work. Was there a "how many selected curves" text entry in the menu at some stage?
I'm getting errors with curve outline also using add curve extras > star and several other objects, mostly when the segments are not joined last to first i think. should be a check needed there also?
Let me know how you feel about this. There's some really good functionality here and with a maintainer such as yourself to back it up there should be no issues adding to release and finalizing bug fixes over the coming month.
It will need to be pretty tidy as everyone will want to use it. Well done. I cannot remember the years we have had this in contrib waiting for someone like you to pick up. Awesome work.

Hi, I've disabled the addon for now, fatal crashes are no good. There is this underway https://developer.blender.org/D5336 which replaces the functionality.
There is also this addon: https://blenderartists.org/t/destructive-extrude-beta/678275/278 which is working and does not have the crashing issue.
I may look at adding the working destructive extrude back to mesh tools addon short term if the built in features are not complete for 2.81 release.
@SABRI Salim (salim3d) if you check the forum link above, you'll find the working version with the same functionality.

@Germano Cavalcante (mano-wii) which comes bundled with the mesh edit tools. I've successfully recreated the hard crash using this addon.

One option here is to add parts the ctrl/l to the menu to replace the current entries. Also there's the Particle specials for copy only particles. These seem to be working well. As usual it's a matter of finding time/maintainer to make the changes.
hi, looking at the code here and doing a simple test on a cube duplicated in edit mode to create the doubles, export then import gives the result you describe above. The mesh is triangulated and the doubles removed (on re import i think) not checked in external program. There's some settings in the addon to work with. I think it's working as expected and doubles are not a good thing to try to import/export in any circumstance.

hi, currently the addon is unsupported in both 2.79 and 2.8. With no developer to handle your bug I'm really not sure what we can do here. Have you tired adjusting frame rate and anything else you can think of?
It's very difficult to reproduce this bug and "Simply Open 3x Blender on 1 computer and 1x Blender on the 2nd computer" would need someone with 2 comps and the technical know how to set up this advanced technique.
Are your video drivers up to date? possibly this could cause issues?
hi, i remember this addon from a while back. I'm not sure what the issue is. As this bug tracker is for addons that come bundled with Blender, this task is not valid.
I do know it's working in 2.79. (just tested) You may be better to do a manual install of the addon. Options here are to try the support forums or contact the original author.

hi, committed and changed menu location. No version update yet. I wanted to question the reasons for the version bump? Is this required to prevent non backward compat to 2.8.0? (I'm still getting used to this versioning) Happy to version bump if this is the case.
