The Add Vertex called Duplicate or Extrude to Cursor in the case of mesh.

I have similar problems on MacOS.
@Sebastian Parborg (zeddb) check out my comment above, this refers to a Fullscreen Area not a Maximized Area. There is no close button in the maximized area, only in the fullscreen.
Tue, Jun 11
Note that on the video, the status bar does not show assigned actions for mouse buttons.
And tool buttons tooltips - "Internal error!".
Maybe this will help.

Also, this bug only appears when you switch to fullscreen mode from a maximized window (like Blender runs by default),
but if you resize the window a bit, then everything works fine.

There are two types of apple keyboards "US" and "International".
Turn on both the "Automatically hide and show the menu bar" and the "Automatically hide and show the Dock" and then run Blender.

There is an option in the Preferences » Navigation » Zoom Axis » Vertical/Horizontal.
Could you explain what you think is not working correctly and what exactly you are doing.

there's definitely conflicts Ctrl-Spacebar with the "show_gizmo_context" (in 2.7x keymap)
and with the "autocomplete" in both keymaps

This key can act differently, depending on the keyboard itself and the language settings of OS.
The problem here is not specifically with this key, but with "dead keys" in general.
Mon, May 27
Note that these keys work in English keyboard layout.
To reproduce this issue, you need a non-English keyboard layout
where ` or ~ keys (or some other combinations) act as "dead keys" modifiers.
This is a known issue T38702.

There are two bugs, the first one is an invisible icon.
It will be nice to be able to use different icon sets for different themes.
This can be a theme preference; or use a subfolder or file prefix with the theme name.

The "Natural Trackpad Direction" setting is only present on macOS
and is related to the system preference "Scroll direction: natural (Content tracks finger movement)", which is now enabled by default.
Orbiting around an object has an opposite direction while using Apple Magic Mouse or a MacBook trackpad's scroll.
@William Reynish (billreynish) can this option be enabled by default on MacOS?
Enable this option:
Preferences > Navigation > Natural Trackpad Direction

Since it is not MacOS specific, it may be necessary to change the title of this task.
@Jos Huntjens (Lox) check your system's shortcut keys.
@William Reynish (billreynish) it will be more correct to use ICON_ERROR, it's a warning rather just info, and yellow color if possible

Also, after pressing the "Revert Preferences" button in the Preferences window the Blender main window freezes, although the Preferences window continues to work.
If open the Preferences editor inside the main window, this does not happen.
Oh sorry, this is a different problem than I wrote.
As I said on devtalk this caused hardcoded shortcut for the app menu.

This design scares me. When you "Revert to Last" or "Reset to Factory" it may also change the "Save on Exit" state, and it looks unpredictable and dangerous. So I would prefer to always see this option as it is now, especially if it's enabled by default. Otherwise you have to constantly go to see if it's activated or not.

This is not a logo/icon it's a button.
If you want to remove it, then you need to remove it on all platforms to have the same functionality everywhere.

@William Reynish (billreynish) I'm not really worried about this feature, but it just works fine in the 2.79b but in latest 2.79.x no longer, so there is definitely a bug.
Apr 2 2019
In the 2.79b there is no blur (not sure if it is visible in this screenshot, you need to look at the actual size).
@William Reynish (billreynish) try to run blender with the "Open in Low Resolution" option, it seems there is a bug, both 2.8 and latest 2.79 experimental build.
Try to set the value to 0, in this case there will be a maximum cursor offset, with 1 there is no offset.

It probably also depends on your system language, not just the keyboard layout.
If you have "English (US)" language, the keyboard will not present "dead key" behavior, because they are not used in english.

Mar 14 2019
@William Reynish (billreynish) How does your layout look?
It seems you need to have some international keyboard, there are no settings in System Preferences, it depends on keyboard layout.
Mar 13 2019
The updating won't help you, I'm using 10.14.3.
You can remap Alt-E to Cmd-E, if it's critical to you.
@William Reynish (billreynish) Try also Alt-I (Delete Keyframe) then move the object using gizmo, and then try entering some value.
This function works in this way: for example, you press Option-E and then immediately A, so "a" will be converted in the "á".
In other applications, if after Option-E you click somewhere it reset this function.
Blender "remembers" this, you can perform some action after Option-E and then when you try to enter the symbol it will convert.
Moreover, it's not relative to Extrude,
it's a kind of macOS feature with Option-E.
Yes, this bug occurs when "Extrude Only Vertices and Move" executed via Alt+E, but not via menu or search.
After the "Combine RGBA" node you have an image with Premultiplied Alpha.
When you save as PNG, image is converted to Straight Alpha, and the channel values change.

OpenAL32 is something related to audio.
Check the sound card drivers. Try disable sound card.
When Blender to save the .blend1 backup file it is invisible in the Finder until something is updated (not related to Blender, since it may already be closed).
Although new .blend files appear immediately when you save it via Save As.

I would try to use only text without icons for "Transform Orientation", the text is more clear, all words are short, no problem with custom option, no problem with 3D Cursor icon.

The normal is shown by the Z axis. If you have a symmetrical object, two opposite elements have oppositely directed normals and their average is zero.

@Russell (russ1642) just yesterday, I wrote about this problem:
Try "File" > "Load Factory Settings". Is it still not working?
Look at the auto-save and recovering features.
Feb 13 2019
Changes are saved in the userpref.blend file, not in the preset. When you select a preset the changes you have made are reset.
There is a mismatch in naming the same parameter in different places. Adjust Last Operator (radius) vs. Properties editor (size).
Is there any chance to see the possibility of online editing? At least, with the most simplified features for small edits.
It seems easier not to use the .blend files in the manual at all. Тoo many problems.
- not one of the current files will not work/look well in 2.8
- license (contributor may upload something is not suitable)
- security (py-files or other executable code)
- and so on
There may be links to external files in the see more section, for example files from developers in release logs.

@William Reynish (billreynish) Check the white ring in the two lower icons, it's not white in some places.
Feb 11 2019
I think when you install the font, it is not real copied to the Windows/Fonts directory, it is only "linked".
like most other programs, Blender should save the location and size of the window when closing and restore when opening
In fact, there may be cases where two-color icons would be useful,
such as "selection icons" above, or something in the future.
Check the font-type (file extension) which Blender does not see.
Try turning off the file-type filter (at the top right).
Try uploading a file from another directory, not Windows/Fonts.
Feb 10 2019
For me it looks like these (two-color) icons are from another set,
they do not fit into the overall monochrome design.

Hotkey for the Pie Menu is grave accent ( ` ), on the English keyboard it along with tilde ( ~ ).
So just this Hotkey is incorrect called tilde, for simplicity.
