Even though I still think that selecting the hierarchy with just 1 click on the whole item (icon + name), and not just the icon would be even more intuitive, this is a huge improvement in usability, so congrats! I wanted to ask if this will be also shown as an operator in the Outliner keymap preferences, giving the user the possibility to e.g. change from dbl-click to single click?

Too bad this is not considered a high priority, Blender always had smoothness in its UI as one of its cornerstones, it's a pity we had such a downgrade and the devs don't feel the need to fix this as soon as possible. Between this and the UV/mage Editor regression, I feel the features of this last release are overshadowed by these UI important downgrades. I hope that at least for 3.2 this will be fixed.

I really hope the devs pay attention to this and reconsider this change, which wasn't a small one and in my opinion causes more problems rather than solving them, honestly for an unneeded consistency with the other headers. As I already mentioned on Blender.chat with no response whatsoever, now there are way more chances where the header becomes crowded, cutting important menus like Shading and Overlays.
Under the task https://developer.blender.org/T91536 many users gave feedback about the problems that this change caused, also the author of the original tool shelf Alberto Velàzquez gave his feedback both there, on blender.chat and on devtalk, but there was always little response from the devs about this. Even the developer Harley Achenson commented on the task implying that there was very little discussion about this in the UI team. Please at least consider having an option in the header menu to swap it back to the original layout.
Did some more testing with an Area light, this time also in Blender is semi-transparent if the light intensity is low.

This is one of the consequences of the Header Swap that bugs the most, hope the devs take a look at this since it really downgrades usability.

But wouldn't make more sense to just not have at all the area and the arrow to expand it, considering that the options it's supposed to show are already in the top header? Without considering this bug, the difference between opening the Preferences from a previous editor and opening it with Edit is:
- In the latter the options are at the bottom, condensed in 3 lines menu, which can be expanded as a regular header, put at the bottom.
- In the former, the options are the top presented in a header, which can be condensed in a 3 line menu and flipped at the bottom if wanted.

I'm no developer, but couldn't this be caused by the recent performance updates of the image editor of last week: https://developer.blender.org/rBbdd74e1e933, https://developer.blender.org/rB0a32ac02e97? They are supposed to actually improve performance with large images, but maybe they are messing with something else.

This bug is still present in 3.1. Not a big deal, it doesn't break or make it impossible to work, but considering it was introduced by the navigation gizmo update of 3.0, even if tiny it's basically a regression.
Nov 25 2021
@Pratik Borhade (PratikPB2123) Geez it completely flew over my head that I did the bug report on 2.93. Anyway, the bug is still present on 2.93.7, but not in 3.0
Even if BlenderKit is not anymore an official add-on and this would have probably been archived, I can confirm that this bug is not occurring anymore with the new version of BlenderKit.
Nov 23 2021
@Pratik Borhade (PratikPB2123) Thanks Pratik, totally missed that!
Nov 12 2021
Any news on this? I just found out that the same bug occurs, probably from ages, with the gizmo of the spotlight.
Hard to say if in this case it was intentional or nobody never noticed it, I'd say the second considering it was behavior not present anywhere else in gizmos (before this bug of course).

Ok, found the bug! I reloaded factory settings and then turned on/off my personal preferences: the thumbnails render black when turning on Limit Size in the textures section in the Viewport preferences. I'll change the title and description
Hi @Pratik Borhade (PratikPB2123), unfortunately still the same.

Hello, I want to bring attention to headers. With editors with dark headers, I find it difficult to read some drop-down menu buttons. Especially the Outliner, the Filter, Editor and Display mode drop-down buttons are waaay harder to read from distance and seem fully merged with the background color.

I imagined this was after that patch, but IMO it's not an expected behavior: first, this specific change, if I'm correct, is not mentioned in the commit or the task. Secondly, what issue is this trying to solve? I can't find a reason for this change. Finally, but this is more personal, I don't find it aesthetically pleasing, especially the lighting items in the shading menu, what is that excessive padding and space of the background for? Anyway, if this is an expected behavior, then close the report, but maybe Pablo Vazquez can tell us what he thinks.

I'm aware of this, but I decided to report it as there are other reports for this theme change that were all confirmed: https://developer.blender.org/T92590, https://developer.blender.org/T92581, https://developer.blender.org/T92595.
Oct 27 2021
To me a big problem is the scrollbar, is almost illegible with this theme, I literally had to click and hold randomly a couple of times to understand I was clicking it.

@Pratik Borhade (PratikPB2123) The bug was resolved by this commit of the BlenderKit developers: https://developer.blender.org/rBAc49c16c38d4bce29a1e0518d5fad5d90f42ab5e7
So for me the bug can be closed as resolved, one thing though is that in a private exchange I had with the developer, and also as mentioned by him in the commit, this could interfere with other add-ons, just so that you know.
And to always have something for you to triage ;), I have already another bug related to BlenderKit: https://developer.blender.org/T92497

I agree with the points regarding arrows and how it breaks a bit the visual language and function of different arrows, plus being them less solid than the previous ones. But, please keep in mind that Pablo Vazquez is not a new contributor with little experience, he's a hardcore member of Blender for many years now, he was present from 2.5 and maybe even before so for sure he's not one who just arrived and doesn't know how UI worked previously. I agree that all this padding might be too much, maybe it could be useful to have an option in Themes to reduce it?

Maybe the overlays could have other options like Grid and Grid Levels, Outline Selected, Frames, Noodle curving and maybe even Noodles themselves! Trying to mimic more the 3D View options. Quite some time I was waiting for these cosmetic changes, happy to see all these patches!
It's the same bug that I reported more than a month ago: https://developer.blender.org/T91006
In my case, it happens when invoking a new window (like file browser or preference window) AND also when report warning messages appear at the top because the the status bar is hidden. oddly enough, these cases change depending on which version (2.93 or 3.0), but it's from 2.93 that this happened, as I always work with the status bar hidden and in 2.92 this wasn't happening.
Oct 13 2021
Subtle but very nice!
I also never understood the logic behind File browser, Graph Editor and Drivers (and now also Asset Browser) having a darker header than the rest.

Hi, I'd like to suggest a small change in the organization of the settings:
I think that Noise Threshold should be at the end of the tab, both for order of importance compared to max. and min. samples and also for better resembling of the current settings: this update already changes quite some things, and having the Noise threshold parameter as the first setting in the sampling feels very weird to me. Plus, I propose to distance a bit the Time Limit to the samples and invert them to Min. and then Max.

3.0 era is literally calling for this! How is proceeding the acceptance of this lifesaver?
Oddly enough, in 3.0 it doesn't occur when you import something, but right after you delete something imported with the file browser. Plus, completely randomly while I was trying a Cycles X branch, the same bug occurred while I was switching object mode/edit mode AND/OR Toggling Overlays with the Pie menu. This is the most mysterious bug I ever encountered! Jokes aside, without having any knowledge, my guess is that there is something in the code of the status bar that triggers this OR other parts that interfere with the code of the status bar, maybe new 2.93 code, since in 2.92 this bug never occurred to me.
Aug 27 2021
Sorry to bother, but the problem happened again, with the difference that now I could pinpoint EXACTLY what causes this bug: The bug is not related to Blender being in Fullscreen or not, but it's related to hiding the Status Bar. I never use it, so my startup file has the Status Bar hidden down, and that is what causes the bug when importing something with the file browser, if the status bar is not hidden, the bug doesn't occur. Funny thing is, trying the latest 3.0 build, the bug occurs not when importing, but when deleting something that was imported externally. I'll change the description, can someone change the status of this please? Thanks!

Unfortunately I couldn't find the reason for this. If I revert to factory settings, it doesn't do that anymore, so I checked and unchecked any addon that could cause this but nothing, both Blender addons and user addons. I checked preferences, but still nothing. The only thing I know is that with the same add-ons and preferences on 3.0 this doesn't happen, so at least I hope when it comes out it won't happen anymore.

Thanks. I'll do more tests with factory settings and let you know. I don't know, but maybe can be connected to the fact that I included Fullscreen mode (through the maximize Windows button) as part of the Startup File?

I can confirm that the issue is still present in the current 2.93 build.
I confirm that the issue with the current 2.93 build has been resolved and the report can be closed.
I can confirm that the problem regarding cryptomatte in 2.93 is gone. Not sure if the issue remains for other situations, but for me the problem is fixed now.

I can confirm, I'm working right now on a project where I'm using an image texture displacement and it's almost impossible to do any action without waiting several seconds. The issue occurs also with working with the Attribute Sample Texture in Geometry Nodes.

Hello, I really like this feature! Just wanted to give a small personal note, I think the percentage indicator should have some sort of visual difference from the static indicators considering they are so close to each other, like having a different background box color.

Did a couple of tries, indeed it happens the same to me. The immediate crash happens with GPU+CPU render.
