I ran into this exact problem today. I have an expensive python operator. Therefore I dont run it on every mesh change, but I wait till the last mesh change of the users is >2s ago. something like an lazy update.

I believe that this system, even with all the improvements that can be made with respect to the previous one, which has undoubtedly cleaned up the code and everything in terms of programming, still contains very basic problems with its use.

The first and fundamental problem it has is that it is designed to bake a particular object. I can't find a way to bake several objects that share the same UV, and if it exists it is even more hidden than in the previous system.

It does not make sense that a baking system is necessarily linked to a single object. BakePasses should contain the objects to be baked. Both high and low. It should be a separate entity, an object within the outliner.

Cant you simply add that test "mesh.validate(True)" before you add the modifier? Blender keeps crashing and my work is not saved. This is really annoying as that crash happens all the time. Im using boolean to create my meshes.
