Does this Differential system make it possible to tell what commit the patch is based on?

This looks cool. Unfortunately the patch doesn't apply cleanly for me. Does this Differential system make it possible to tell what commit the patch is based on?

Brian M Dube (bdube) added a comment to T47032: Custom Manipulators: New Transform Manipulator (Design).

When the manipulator widget for the 2D image editor is done, I would like to see some or all of that applied to scaling and transforming background images in the 3D viewport. The current state is not that bad, but my use case involves many background images that need to be accurately scaled and positioned.

Brian M Dube (bdube) added a comment to T51960: 2.79-testbuild1 Crash with SIGABRT on macos, OOM on linux.

The reason the plane has the loop cut and 50 subdivisions was to set up a cloth simulation. I added the subsurf modifier after the cloth (towel) was pinned and hanging from a mock hook. When I saw the crash, that's when I tested without involving cloth physics and saw that it still crashes.
