Hi,
Just saw the video, very interesting development.
If loose part is the problem, there might be a workaround if the vertex numero can be used:
1/ we select the 'stack depth': the number of stacked modifiers we used.
For example, if we want the modifier to be applied for 2 two last (array) modifiers, just before the noise modifier, the 'stack depth' will be 2.

The results image when you add a render layer seems to be:

for the composite, the result expected (combination of the OpenEXRMultiLayer layers)
for the layer, the active render layer of the scene...

a little precision: in 2.69 it seems to works only if you don't check children 'Interpolate' button.
