phew... that took a while. i thought he meant the "filmic log" setting in the color space setting for the clip,
that already was on "srgb" on my end.
aight, i stand corrected. switching view transform from "filmic" to "standard" (as @Yevgeny Makarov (jenkm) and @Brecht Van Lommel (brecht) said) fixes the rgb values.
@William Reynish (billreynish)
as there obviously is a video editing template that is working fine,
using the sequencer from the general template (which contains the bug) might
as well be deprecated so there wouldnt be a need for a fix and this can be marked as closed.
and yes, for some reason i never noticed the entire template thing.

interesting. that works as intended indeed. rgb values are as they should be.
when was this even added?
anyway, feel free to close this if video editing in the general template is deprecated
thx for the clarification!
can you clarify what you mean with video editing template?
i start blender, change the 3d view to video sequencer view, add a movie and thats it.
how would i switch to a special video editing setup?

aight. i should point out that i actually have one of those nvidia 3d vision supporting displays, so your take on trying it out with a regular display is worth more.
thank you very much for taking time for all of this!

you dont need specific hardware to turn it on, just choose the "3D Vision Discover" type of display, it will not try to detect it, as it is just a regular display using red/blue glasses.
but your are right, it will switch to 3d vision mode on some games, not on blender or regular applications, though.
@Chingiz Jumagulov (Krayzmond) could you give it a shot and try to confirm that it would get rid of the flickering?

it is fixed indeed!
oh boy... what are the odds? i reportet a bug that was in there for months and months and i reported it just as the fix was already committed, but before the nightly build was out...

i had the same issue as OP, as well as the screen flickering in black when opening preferences.
enabling nvidia stereoscopic 3d in the nvidia driver settings fixed it for me.
