During sculpt/texture module meeting 2022-05-18 we agreed that the best solution is to add this feature as a new stroke method called roll. This will be the best solution looking forward to the planned brush management.

Great idea! This will save the users extra clicks for sure. I would love it if you could also add the property for the auto smooth angle as well. As a user I'm often changing it to different values on different objects

Ah, I should have added that info. You are correct. UDIM has never worked when it comes to baking. I asked Dalai Felinto if I should add it as a design task or similair, but he suggested I'd add it as a bug.

I think that @Campbell Barton (campbellbarton) has a valid point that it can be useful to use a different outline for instances generated with geometry nodes. This could for instance give the user a visual cue that some geometry nodes (such as "set position") will not work on the instances.

Speaking from an artists point of view: I have a hard time seeing the usefulness of the addon when doing actual modeling work. Therefore I am sceptical if it is worth the time to put a developer into making this a modifier. I would much rather that developers time would be put into tackling features that could be useful for a larger group of blender users (such as the UV improvements ;-) ). There are very few 3d artists that I know of that is using NURBS surfaces in their modeling workflow. The exception would be 3d hard surface modelers that use the 3d application "Moi 3D". The biggest selling point of that application is strong use of parametric modeling and boolean use.
