@William Reynish (billreynish) The D-key is reserved for the Grease Pencil in all modes, That is the reason it was changed to X-key in Blender 2.7 series.

Yes just I checked and it is working now, meaning that is not crashing anymore but still you have to undo twice before the undo takes place. May be should close this one and open another one with the title " After lasso mask, Blender needs two undo before the undo takes place." ?

@Julien Kaspar (JulienKaspar) do you why brushes are nested? For me nested == to hide.
I have hard time to understand why. Because in edit mode we have 18 icons visible and in sculpt mode 12 icons visible. We have enough space to put more brushes and we can scale the icons and fit even more brushes. If the nested is based on the name, i should say that is a bad decision because in Blender brushes behave differently. For example, while clay brush works great with multires., it performs poorly with Dyntopo. And clay strip does the opposite, even though they have kind of the same type of brushes name"clay". The clay strip brush is Blender's magic brush you can do almost anything with it in Dyntopo, nesting it kills the discover-ability what ever this word means LOL.
@Campbell Barton (campbellbarton) Here is my suggestions:
- Scale down all the brushes in sculpt mode and make them all visible, or
- Let the users decide about what brush they want to nest. ( this is what has happened with old screen layout, almost no one was using them because it was predefine for the user, not necessarily user taste )

I have bad feelings about to start to relearn key shortcut, not because i hate changes but because it will slow down artists/users. Blender is a tool, you learn to use it and make something awesome with it., but if every now and then you have relearn the way to use it, it is a slow down process for your creativity. Improvement should be made to relieve artists/users burden. Yes eventually many will learn the new way, and others not.

Actually the usercount gets incremented in pose mode by doing anything action there ( move, scale, selection, rotate ), and note that COW is now default. If you play a bit with the file, just select some bones, rotate, scale, .... and do some undo in the middle, Blender will crash and sometimes not able to open the file anymore(crash on start).

I believe for testing you may be want to post a link in BA thread that you have started, there you will have more traffic ( which is not always good, you don't have to answer everybody ;) ) In BA there is more artists/users who will want to play with it and give some feedbacks.

I tried this on win 7 gtx 550ti master hash d5c1c0b, every things seems okay, I run the script till my Mem was 50.90M i don't remember how many times but more than needed :)

Another point to take into account on removing face dots feature, when implementing the new feature, please take into consideration that, when you are in face select mode after a loop cut, Blender switches to edge loop select without any warning and not seeing those face dots is the only information that we get from Blender that we are in a different mode. So some kind of clear visual info to make the difference between this 2 modes.

Face dot is important but i can live without, but you have to give us something, may be an option in the user preferences to turn it on and off or the ability to highlight the face that cursor will select on a click? Sometimes it is difficult to know what face my cursor is close to, specially when you are in transparent mode ( limit selection visibility) or wireframe mode.
One more useful thing for that menu will be the ability to move the whole collection into another collection (move collection or nest collection) and moving object(s) as well into collection :)

Replace default cube scene?
Hello there is there any reason or good reason to hide brushes in sculpt/paint mode? It is odd that before brushes were really big but we showed all of them and now we can scale, yet we are hiding some of them.
I suggest to show out all the brushes that come with Blender. And another suggestion will be that we have the brush in use (not active brush ) showed somehow, because with the new active tool concept, when using shortcut key it is difficult to see or to show what brush the sculptor is using, this is good the sculptor and for anyone who will want to watch tutorials on sculpting.

New Collections should always be added to the Master Collection, so objects don't immediately disappear when adding them to new Collections
This makes me wonder why Workspace RenderLayer is the default and not Viewport workspace? I asking because i believe everyone will like to understand what is going in the background, it is not a problem if something disappears as long as you know where to find it.

My wild guess will be, you have mirror enabled and normalize on. I m not having your problem here. We will need that blend for better investigation, a simplified version.
As a good advice, ask in the forum before reporting a bug.

@Campbell Barton (campbellbarton) i see now, so yesterday while testing i offset it first and i scaled it. I wanted it to be on specific spot and with specific size and every time i was scaling it to have the correct size it will move from the spot that i have put it before, now i see it was because of the offset.
And it seems like we cannot scale empty as image with bounding box as pivot center.
The option 'scale around the image center' will be good as well :)
Tested the empty as an image functionality yesterday in Blender 2.8, because Clay render doesn't have background image yet , sincerely talking it a pain to manipulate the image. it scales only from the origin and since scaling from the origin is like translating it is making it hard to have the image in one place. It would good to have the future empty as image behave just like Blender 2.79 background image.
May be a .blend would be good to look into because my snapping is working great here in win 7 geforce gtx 550ti. Blender 2.79 and master as well.

For me at least, it doesn't seem like too much info on the brush since the indicator disappears while sculpting. Yes this is a useful feature while working with asymmetry model. You want the brush to remind you if the symmetry is on or off.
Something similar would be great to have for the lock option. The lock option needs this option so much because it used for in a short amount of time.

This is a feature i use a lot when sculpting, specially when i have hard time to get the proportion right, so it will be good if it has an option to turn it on and off in orthogonal view or perspective view. It will be disturbing to have it stick on your model while in perspective view.

Bastien did you try to replicate it? Behavior had changed, get Blender 2.77 series screencast worked out of the box but with 2.78a it doesn't work or should ask how to " ensure your window has a size compatible with chosen video codec"? At least before we didn't have to.

Those are known limitations of multires. modifier. You are having those problems because your sculpting in different subdivision level. My experience with multires. is to have as much detail as possible in the level 3 or below and when i move to level 4 or above i add fine details and don't go back to level 3 to sculpt :(

I m still getting some random crashes with 22d53e5, this time it crashes when rendering, but hash 98e2135 is rendering the scene now. i really don't know how to help here :( May be it will be better to start my own report so we can investigate together.
