Still broken in 2.90

Sweet! Can you test if this bug is present on that driver? https://developer.blender.org/T79724 It seems to be another 5700xt driver issue.

Alright, so the "recommend" driver has the issue worse with hair and the cube:
Which GPU did you use? I swapped my RX580 in and the issue went away. It only happens with my 5700xt. I think it's an issue with the drivers. I'll have to try all the different drivers on the amd website for this card.

It looks like it was a driver issue. I uninstalled the amdgpu driver and installed the latest version and it seems to have fixed my opencl problems.

I'm having the same issue! I hope this get addressed.
I didn't see that this was already reported. It's a duplicate of https://developer.blender.org/T72873 I don't know how to mark duplicates. I tried to check if this was already reported by searching opencl in the search but I didn't see T72873 because it has open cl in the title instead of opencl
I tried to test with the lasted build but opencl seems to be completely broken for me. I reported a new bug here https://developer.blender.org/T73006
The textures where from the character model I deleted to save upload time. The Point density material doesn't use any textures. I'll test it again with a fresh 2.82 build and clean up the blend file more.

I was going to report a similar issue I was having with volumetrics. I use a rx 580 8gb on linux (ubuntu 18.04) with the amdgpu driver (non pro) and blender 2.8 rc2

Oh I didn't know that. Does the problem go away with higher samples or should I stick to just gpu or cpu rendering exclusively?
