Nico Zevallos (gnastacast) updated the diff for D4110: UI: Shrink + buttons to open Toolbar & Sidebar in the Viewport & Text Editor.

Got rid of the 'add' variable for tabs on the left edges. The '-1' that was being added made the tabs asymmetrical.

@Nico Zevallos (gnastacast), tested again and confirmed it works with headers now (strange!).

Still failing w/ tabs as noted by @William Reynish (billreynish) and toolbar (T-Key in 3D view).

as you can see in this image, it works for the header in the properties window and the outliner on Linux. How do I hide the tabs in the properties window?

buttons window

Could you clarify where the buttons window is? Is that the toolbox on the left?

Nico Zevallos (gnastacast) planned changes to D4110: UI: Shrink + buttons to open Toolbar & Sidebar in the Viewport & Text Editor.

I also see an error I made creating two useless x,y variables. I think it needs a cleanup anyway, this is just my first pass.

I'd like to take this on as a first project. Can I assign myself to it?

Nico Zevallos (gnastacast) added a comment to T58070: The Backface Culling option should move from Overlays to Shading.

as can be seen in these screenshots checking the 'backface culling' option in the overlays tabs affects which faces are shown when using the evee rendering engine in the viewport. You are correct that it doesn't affect the rendered view in cycles. if that shouldn't be the case i can open it up as a separate bug.

Should backface culling show up in all the shading dropdowns? I ask because it might be difficult for users to find the checkbox if it's only accessible when 'solid' mode is selected. It affects all of the shading modes, so I think it should be on all of them, including 'rendered' which currently greys out the shading dropdown. Maybe this option should live under the 'render' tab of the properties window?
