For me this prints an error in the console: Cycles: out of SVM stack space, shader "Steel" too big.

What does the little E next to the cursor mean?

Initially I wasn't sure if/when this feature would be used, but thinking about it I often like to temporarily add reroute nodes before breaking a connection (like this) to make it easier to re-add the connection after testing something, especially when dealing with large node trees.

Not sure why I'm added as a reviewer, I only work on add-ons. Seems like a good idea though.

Maybe i should move the tags into the addonprefs so they become user editable?

Some small comments inline, but otherwise it's nice :) One major issue though with how users should select textures...

Yep, thanks, will look into it.

Propsbar sounds odd to me, but prop-shelf is great. Also fine with properties sidebar, but propshelf is my new favourite :)

For anyone googling this, here's my current workaround:

Any idea how to avoid this or work around it? Running into this problem repeatedly in various productions, losing lots of animation work.

I can't reproduce this - as Bastien suggests please try with a recent build.

Aha! Can confirm it works in latest build! Probably the same issue as T49187. Sorry for not testing properly.

I see - this only breaks if you're in edit mode - in object mode it works fine.

Just committed the Copy Attributes part of this patch (replaced existing function) since 2.78 testbuilds are about to be released and then we'll be locked to just bug fixing. After 2.78 I'll add the Reset stuffs.
Thanks for the report, but I can't seem to reproduce this issue. Can you try again with the latest version? Get it here: https://git.blender.org/gitweb/gitweb.cgi/blender-addons.git/blob_plain/HEAD:/node_wrangler.py

Apart from how the existing Copy to Selected is broken, they seem to (try to) do the same thing to me. Shall we just replace the current broken one with your new one?

What's the status on this Ptex work? Sorry if I missed another thread where conclusions were made.

3% slowdown is perfectly acceptable imo

Just tested on Linux & Windows 10 with latest blender and latest drivers, can confirm this issue now seems to be resolved \o/

Spoke with Brendon and Cambo on IRC, looks like that commit just got missed for 2.77a. If there's a 2.77b, it'll be fixed in there. Otherwise just download the latest version and replace your current one (/2.77/scripts/addons/node_wrangler.py) with that.
hack_force_update is old code, replaced recently by the simpler force_update method. Maybe rBA27da8e1f was lost in the 2.77a release?? *This* is the current version of the add-on straight from git, and it does indeed have the new function.

@Aaron Carlisle (Blendify) Did you close this by accident? This task has nothing to do with smoke simulation.

Thanks for the patch!
Line breaks are intentionally added after punctuation as this usually prevents small changes from running over multiple lines (thus making diffs potentially bigger and harder to read)
