Figured out the difference. I was using an old development build from 18.8. which gave different result with denoising. Removing negative values before rendering fixes denoising in all of them
Ubuntu 14.04 64bit, gnome 3 fallback, nvidia graphics. Rendered with cpu, 32x32 tile size.

Quite sure the denoising artifacts are from negative values, same as using musgrave texture as diffuse color

Right, the behaviour is intended then and not a bug. The labels for the selection options still are wrong for shortest path selection. The manual doesn't decribe the tool correctly, link in release notes throws an error, the wording in Blender doesn't help, and there's no tooltips for the options.

The spline type is poly, not bezier. Set spline type button on the tool shelf to convert.

Looks like AVI and MP4 containers (h.264 and mpeg-4 encoding formats) don't even support FLAC, so it shouldn't be even available as an option to choose from.

I tried this prior report was submitted with 2.74 000dfc0, 2.75 c27589e, 2.75.3 6df3e3a on Ubuntu 14.04, Gnome 3 Classic, nvidia graphics. Got the result where first object wasn't shown and observed that the last object was repeated multiple times.

Also a question about reporting: should we select most suitable/multiple projects in the project field when reporting? Like for instance, BF Blender, BF Blender: regressions, User interface might be suitable options for this.

I can repeat the described problem. Blender versions I tested (and with factory defaults): official 2.71 9337574 and today's build Blender 2.71.3 4cf531f
Linux 64-bit, nvidia graphics.

I don't see a problem here. Bake margin of 0 tries to keep the bake inside the UV islands and with a low resolution image it's far from corner vertices. Increasing the margin to 3 is enough to cover all UV islands -> problem solved.
