Jason Schleifer is currently a creative director at AWS. Previously, he co-founded Nimble Collective, a cloud-based animation platform with the goal of revolutionizing the animation industry by making it easy for animators around the world to create, collaborate, and prosper.

Before that, he was the Head of Character Animation on Dreamworks Animation's films Mr. Peabody and Sherman, Megamind, and the 2014 Short film Rocky and Bullwinkle. He was a Supervising Animator on Night of the Living Carrots and Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa. Schleifer also animated on Madagascar, The Madagascar Penguins in a Christmas Caper, Over the Hedge, and Shrek the Third. Prior to his career at Dreamworks Animation, Schleifer had extensive involvement at Weta Digital beginning as a Creature Technical Director, and later as animation lead on The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, animating characters like Gollum, the Witch King, and Shelob.

In addition to his work on films, Jason has created numerous training materials on character rigging, taught courses on character animation, mentored animation students and co-authored and presented courses at Siggraph 2001 and 2002 on rigging for animators.

Schleifer has a B.A. in High Honors from the University of Califorina, Santa Barbara and has received an Honorary Doctorate of Animation from the Digital Media Arts College in Boca Raton, Florida .

Sometimes it's really helpful to snap to particular frame intervals as well.. for example, if I'm animating on 2's, I'd love to be able to snap to 2's as I drag.

Super cool! In terms of hotkeys, since animators are already used to Shift+E to go to pose mode while in the 3D viewport, would it be possible to use something similar like ctrl+shift+e or something like that? Then it'll feel like an extension of the tool they're used to, just with more awesome power. :)

One question - does it copy the current values, or the current keys? If I have a key on the rx on this frame, but not ry... and I propogate the POSE.. I would expect the values of both rx and ry to be placed on the next keyed frame... for both attributes.

I checked in the daily build from today, and it does work correctly. Why was this pulled from the official release? Any chance it can be patched back in?

I just checked this in the official 2.78b release on OS X and the bug is back. Did it not get checked into main? We were relying on this fix for a bunch of shots. :(

Interesting.. the plot thickens! so if you try and render a frame range, you'll get the zooming in as well!

Just curious why this would be the intended behavior? Isn't the render percentage only supposed to modify the final output? By having it affect the way the compositor works, you have to adjust your mask nodes every time you adjust the final render output. This seems cumbersome and unintuitive.

I just played with this version - it definitely helps when adding a key using ctrl+click. It would also be helpful to have this as an option when inserting keys using the "i" hotkey, or using auto-key. Especially if you're keying an entire keyset at once.
