"A" for toggle select is one of the best things Blender has, why splitting the action and adding "ALT+A" Also will there be another shortcut for creating a custom manipulator orientation? previously "CTRL+ALT+Spacebar" another of Blender strengths.

It's a shame to waste @Andrzej Ambroz (jendrzych) consistent icon work for not wanting to adjust the necessary button padding to accommodate the 16px pictograms. I hope you guys reconsider the idea.

Will the colored version of the theme be the default one? As much as I like it I have to agree that colored UI is not ideal for sensitive color work.

@William Reynish (billreynish) And what about greyed out or collapsed but stay pinned for when you are back to that mode? I don't know if that is a good idea but this way will stay there just in case you want to toggle modes for xyz reason and come back.
@William Reynish (billreynish) Oh! I totally understand that. I wonder if the tool settings once pinned could stay pinned and update with each tool you activate, that would solve that issue in my eyes. Regarding the modes, I think is fair and understandable that they will close once the mode changes. Anyway, I posted this on the forums and people seem to be quite positive about it, together with a slim layout for tool settings, I know this might be out of scope and breaks the current layout but I would like to leave it here just as a suggestion. @William Reynish (billreynish) Are there any plans on detachable pinned pop-overs? I'm sure it would be a very welcome addition, at least one that I miss greatly from other 3d programs. I made this little mockup as an example.

Why not having the different modes (Object/Edit,Sculpt,WeightPaint...) in the Function keys F1-F12? and keep Mesh-Select modes (Vert,Edge,Face) in the number keys and maybe numbers 5-9 for certain overlay/shading standards? One is only gonna switch between modes every now and then while Mesh-Select mode change is more often accessed, same goes for shading/overlays. This is obviously my biased opinion as a modeler.

Totally agree with rawalanche, 1-Vertex, 2-Edge, 3-Face, 4-Object, 5-Sculpt... feels more natural imo.

In the current version of Blender there is no possibility (without add-ons) of toggling wireframe on all scene objects with a single click of a button, neither for the selected objects. I think that would be a much welcome option and would fit under the Overlays popover.

I'm not sure this question belongs here but are there any plans for upgrading the Stats info? Such as UV count, Vertex split count, etc? As a game dev that would be a welcome addition. Thanks
