I've just rebuilt and tested my package after the commit. I can confirm that the crash is no longer reproducible indeed. Thanks much for the quick fix! :)

Hi Xavier, I didn't mean to dismiss your issue, but the policy of this tracker is that it's for official Blender versions only. I am tagging @Brecht Van Lommel (brecht) here though, maybe he has a clue.

Yeah, I'm not urging this must be fixed ASAP or anything like that. It's just that I'm also a maintainer of another AUR package based on Blender (upbge-git) so I'd like to get updates from here so I can take appropriate measures if needed, rather than having the report dismissed as irrelevant to the Blender project.

I understand why Blender devs feel reluctant to support unofficial builds. But can't anyone at least give some pointer about where I should look to identify and fix the cause?

I just found that the official build doesn't show the same issue. Looks like it might have something to do with the fact that AUR packages are built against system libraries as is the convention with most Linux distros.

I have a question, by the way. I'm using nodeitem_utils module in my project which is used to register custom node categories and items (e.g. to extend the shader editor) but it looks like it is not included in the source list in sphinx_doc_gen.py.

Sorry, if I failed to follow a proper procedure somehow. It's my first time to report an issue to Blender project, so it's possible that I missed something. If that to be the case, I'd appreciate it if someone could either move it to a proper place or let me know where and how I should report such a problem. Thanks!

I just want to mention that this also affects UPBGE, which is a forked version of former BGE. I know that the project does not directly concern Blender now, but I believe it's a good thing for the community to have a viable game engine that is directly tied to Blender itself.
