@Campbell Barton (campbellbarton) it may happen that you delete an object but you don't want to delete his material.
So we come back to the same question: is there a hierarchy between the data? Why keeping my object material and not my mesh or my walk-cycle animation, so carefully crafted?

Auto Save Temporary File is currently set to 2 minutes:
this may cause problems in slow computers and in huge scenes, causing a lot of writes (ssd consumption, battery drain...).
