@Alejandro (westter) okay, can you provide a .blend file for us to investigate the issue? We don't make decisions based on art. We are only interested in the mechanics behind it, so that we can identify and erase the error.
That's right, thank you! The docs are a little bit fuzzy in this case. We have to be a bit more clear in the description what it does ( https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/modeling/meshes/uv/editing.html#bpy-ops-uv-align )
@Gilberto Rodrigues (gilberto_rodrigues) For further infos see: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/2.83/modeling/meshes/uv/editing.html#straighten-align Does that solve your issue, or is the alignment really wrong on your system?
@Alejandro (westter) Could you provide a .blend file where that happens? And also (maybe obvious, but sometimes it's not) did you restart your computer?
That is mathematically correct. Align X aligns along the x axis and is the same as S -> X -> 0.
@Clément Foucault (fclem) Thanks! 🙂
I don't know where the points in the background came from because I did paint only in front view with Draw Plane set to Front (X-Z) so I for me this came out of nowhere. Maybe the issue occurs again and I remember my steps I've done – Then I could fire another bug report.
@Andry (dedouze) And: I remember you did a live stream some time ago, but I didn't watch it. Maybe you did some more and maybe the issue occurred in one of the streams? Then we could watch it and see what causes the issue.

@Clément Foucault (fclem) Thanks for the explanation, but why is it working in Blender 2.82? Wasn't it intended to work like this? 🥺 ^^
@Brecht Van Lommel (brecht) About the programs which don't work anymore:
1.) One program that doesn't work anymore is "THE VIDEO EDITOR'S RENDER SCRIPT". But which is no longer being developed. It stopped working the day Blender 2.83 was released^^
Tue, Jun 30
@Brecht Van Lommel (brecht) , @Dalai Felinto (dfelinto) Since you changed the versioning system and bpy.app.version returns now a different result than bpy.data.version there are several programs that don't work anymore because of a mismatch.
Now you didn't silently only change the API description for bpy.data.version but also the meaning which it had since forever. That's now why the programs don't work anymore.
So my question is: Is there another way to get the Blender version a .blend file was saved with?

@SABRI Salim (salim3d): Okay, can you then update your task description with a note and the link https://developer.blender.org/T78054#967181 somewhere in the "Exact steps for others to reproduce the error" section? That link points directly to my comment above from today so other developer don't have to read all the other stuff before? 🙂

Thanks for your Spam report. Please make sure to save your work frequently. You can also edit your settings to save your work automatically every x minutes 😘
@Jackson (15jreeder) Can you please open Blender and then in the top menu click on Help -> Report a Bug. That opens a browser and puts all system information & Blender version into an input field. You can copy that and edit your bug report here.
It's unclear which version of Blender you are using and it's also unclear if Blender crashes (like you wrote in the headline) or if there are other glitches.
Also, if possible, make a screen shot, or screencast which shows the behavior.

@Marcin Twarowski (Tvaroog) The Memory usage increases if you set the Cube Size under Shadows to a higher value. Are you sure to set it from 4096 down to 2048? Or vice versa?
@Tamuka Tagwireyi (tamuka120) Did you try to do a duplicate linked (Alt + D) for an object that has a Normal map applied while in EVEE, or Material Preview mode ?
Can not reproduce on Ubuntu 18.04 either.

@SABRI Salim (salim3d) Confirmed reports should always be tagged to a module, otherwise they don't show up in the queries and workboards. We don't know the module jet, so I'll set it back to Needs Triage
@Evan Wilson (EAW) Okay, it's a design change and that's fine. But why didn't they take into account to change it for .blend files too? You said developer want to know in which version a file was saved. Yes and that is why it is important that bpy.app.version and bpy.data.version should be comparable.
I can confirm that there is a Segmentation fault. When using Tangent Space in the Normal Map node.
Okay, I must have accidentally hit the D key. lol 😅 Thanks!
@SABRI Salim (salim3d) Can you provide such "a heavy scene (or less)"? It sounds like you computer ran out of memory (RAM), but that's just guessing. Can you also monitor your memory usage while provoking the crash?

@jitin (jitin): Please fill out all requested information in you bug report (See and replace the text in the square brackets). What exactly did you do when that issue occurred? How can we reproduce that behavior (give us exact steps!)? Do you have a .blend file, which causes the issue?

@Antonio Vazquez (antoniov) Thanks! 🙂

@Antonio Vazquez (antoniov) You added a binary file, but what did you change in this file? 🙂

@Philipp Oeser (lichtwerk) Ja, negative Lift seems to be the only case left which leads to mask-ignoring. 🙂

@Bastien Montagne (mont29) Thanks! Now it works 🙂
@Andry (dedouze) Can you reattach your .blend file? It seems to be broken in the wysiwyg editor.
May 19 2020
I'm wondering why Blender even starts on a 32bit system.
May 14 2020
The response code 403 means "forbidden". It seems that you are sending POST data and your backend validation doesn't like that data. It asks for a key to avoid a cross-site request forgery (CSRF). So you have to send also a form key, or csrfkey, or how it is called in your system. E.g. by putting this key into a hidden form field, or setting it via JS. :)
Apr 27 2020
@Philipp Oeser (lichtwerk) Do you see any chance to check this issue in the near future before LTS feature lock? :)
Apr 5 2020
@Philipp Oeser (lichtwerk) Mist, war wohl schon zu spät.
Hätte ich mir das Bisecting auch sparen können -.-
Bisecting the issue gave me:
82a8da0ec38a70efde4a91957824c67d0e60b8ad is the first bad commit.

Your video "Screen Recording (3-31-2020 7-55-30 PM).wmv" shows a camera movement forward into a forest.
At minute 1:19 you reversed the middle part and played the sequence again. The middle part now shows a camera movement backwards out of the forest, where the other two parts are showing the movement forward into the forest.
So the middle part is playing reversed as intended.

@Paul (JackSonPro) So it works as expected. Therefore I'm gonna close this task. Thanks for the report anyway :)
Mar 31 2020
@Paul (JackSonPro) We already knew that this 43 frame long video worked without proxies :D
What about the video with the forest?^^
Mar 30 2020
@Andrew Beayon (dragon4546) No, there is no official screencast key addon.
You can try some tools for windows e.g. carnackeys or KeyPose (just google them). Also I didn't test them so use them at your own risk
@Paul (JackSonPro) The VSE is using only one CPU core for this operation so it is a little bit lagging on bigger video files. That is, why I asked you to use my video and check again.
@filip mond (vklidu) your graphics card driver seem to be a little bit to old. Can you update your drivers and check again?
@Christopher_Anderssarian Opening your link to blender, chat resulted in the same issue: Loading...
Hoever, I was able to get logged in and the answer was:
I don't know if it's related to this issue here, but the grey values have different values when opening the file overlay_test_v2.83.blend in Blender 2.82.
0.400 is 0.133
0.500 is 0.214
0.600 is 0.319
Mar 29 2020
I wasn't sure how to call the official Blender repositories and forks, that is why I quoted myself. :D
@Paul (JackSonPro) For me it sounds like a critical bug, but I have to admit, that it's very late here (where I am from), so maybe I (or someone else) will take a look at this behavior later!
It seems that the reversed frames are not shown at all?
Okay, but can everyone open a new branch inside this "official Blender versioning system"?
If no: Than we could remove the BF Blender tag.
If yes: You are right.
Mar 28 2020
@Christopher_Anderssarian If that tag is only supposed for official Blender Foundation releases, than we could just remove the tag "BF Blender" afterwards (which is there by default but can be removed after committing a report)!
Mar 27 2020
@Antonio Vazquez (antoniov) I didn't know about that policy. I read Bug Reports but couldn't find anything about those policy :/ I mean everyone talks about such a policy but I never understood what it means :D Could you give me a hint, or a link where I can read the policy?
Mar 26 2020
- We need more information. Please open Blender and go to Help -> Report a Bug and don't delete all the text in that template. This will give us more System information.
- Please attach a blend file (as simple as possible) where this issue also occurs.
- And/or please provide exact steps for others to reproduce the issue.
Mar 23 2020
@Antonio Vazquez (antoniov) I wasn't sure if your patch P1305 made it better, but now I have a "better" opportunity to compare the current master branch version without and with your patch. And it seems that your patch made it better as @n1729 (n1729) stated out.

Mar 15 2020
You didn't include any detailed issue in your report, nor exact steps to reproduce an issue. So please fill in the requested fields, so we can reproduce that issue. :)
من فضلك بالإنجليزية! (Google translate)
Puhh, I was able to make a bisect too without running into compiling errors all the time.
Mar 14 2020
@Antonio Vazquez (antoniov) That would mean, that the parent commit bf1b323b154433ab4701a7ab455cdecaa3867819 does not have this issue? I compiled that version and the issue is there as well:
Or did I misunderstand something?
Mar 13 2020
This report is a duplicate of T74663 :)
What is the difference between your attached images? And also, can you provide a blend file? The provided images don't say much.
Mar 12 2020
gdb gave me this info:
Thread 1 "blender" received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. 0x00005555572250f9 in BKE_defvert_find_index ()
@Berbank Green (Berbank) Did you try to give your light source a higher Power (Watt)?
I can confirm that. (System specs see at the bottom.)
Btw. the issue occurs not only in the attached blend file above, but also with Suzanne in the General workspace:
@Clément Foucault (fclem) I had to enable the developer mode for my system, to be able to install the driver (440.59).

@dark999 (dark999) Can you take a look at your CPU usage when opening a folder with images in the file browser but not resizing it? What does it say?
