Sounds like a video driver issue.
1st step is to update your video driver, preferably from the card manufacturer's website.

Does the problem go away if you run Blender from the command line with the
If so, one of your add-ons is breaking things.
Aug 23 2021
Having the media files and the .blend used for rendering would make this easier to debug.
Aug 14 2021
Last I heard, Cell Fracture add-on has not been ported to newer Blenders. Last working version was Blender 2.79. A pity, since it is pretty cool.

Does the cursor show up with a different Blender theme?
See in console that frame changes faster than the timer can finish its execution. I would expect the timer finish its job before Blender can move to a next frame.

It looks like your blowing up in wintab32.dll . A bit of googling says that is Wacom software. The *32 part is interesting since we are generally in a 64 bit world, but the 32 might just be a historical artifact.

ntdll.dll is fundamental part of your operating system. Lots of things crashing there make me suspect either a broken operating system install or a hard drive going bad.
Jul 31 2021
Since this is not happening to everyone, the problem is your machine. Likely your video driver / graphics card.
First step is to update your video driver - preferably using the card manufacturer's website instead of your operating system's version

I'm always seeing glitches whenever I move my mouse over the main menu to select the mesh I'm working on and whenever I click anything on the layers menu
Jun 4 2021
I can see a rationale for this behavior. Unlike a space-specific action, like Lock Camera to View, the File->Import is available wherever you go.

On Linux with Blender 2.92.0 I get an object with no materials. Seems to be working. Output is as follows:

I'm guessing you changed the Selection tool.
In the 3d viewport, you can cycle through the selection modes with the 'W' key

Unfortunately, when working fast, a warning dialog is the only thing that can save you from this trap.

Try changing Material->Surface->Displacement from "Displacement Only" to "Displacement and Bump"
Mar 28 2021
Just out of curiosity, is the file you are trying to open on a network drive?
Mar 26 2021
Cannot reproduce on Linux with latest LTS 2.83.7
Do you still have the problem if you upgrade to the latest LTS version?
(latest is 2.83.13)

Just thinking out loud...
I wonder if the "Too many open files" message is related to an operating system/user process limit on the number of open file handles.
Feb 23 2021
Likely your video card/driver. (or a really bad theme)
Updating the video driver often helps.
Feb 21 2021
Not a lot to work with here....
Any error messages?
Did you check the outliner?
Problems with *all* fbx files or one in particular?
Feb 20 2021
Imports fine here. Linux 2.92.0 RC and 2.91.2
I suspect a local problem.
Any interesting error messages?
Feb 19 2021
Looking at the error message, it appears your operating system is refusing to load a dynamic library because of "reasons".
Feb 15 2021
Works fine here on Linux with nvidia card for both daily build of 2.92.0 Beta and 2.91.2
I suspect a local issue.

It is probably your graphics card/driver.

This sounds more like a support question. You might try
but you will need to provide more information.

Very timely with the current interest in Mars. I will check it out.

Does this flag help? From the "blender --help" text:
Nov 3 2020
It's a line length issue. If you cannot wrap long lines, you need to break them.
Not really a bug, but you can call it a Known Issue.
A .blend would be very helpful. Got a simple one?
I don't think ArmorySDK is causing the DXF importer to fail.
Nov 1 2020
This is likely caused by a third-party add-on
We need to see your setup.
Please attach a simple .blend

From the git Readme

Once I change the cache dir to something that exists on my box, the .blend seems to work fine.
What *exactly* is the problem?
Oct 22 2020
A .blend would be useful for debugging this. Got one?
Oct 14 2020
I can't quite read the text in the screen shot. Something about a Value Error?
As Einstein has demonstrated, the meaning of "past" depends on your velocity, so it would help to know *exactly* which version of Blender you are using. I recommend trying the daily build for your platform.
Oct 12 2020
after removing opengl in blender directory
A crash that takes down Windows is a crash in system code - like a video driver.
I believe that is a theme setting you can change.
Not a bug.
Oct 10 2020
Please do NOT post screenshots of commercial products.
Actually, isn't it a bug, that both compositor and shader editor share same binding?
Linked Duplicates means that multiple Objects are sharing the same ObData. If 100 MeshObjects are sharing the same plane MeshData, there are only 4 verts, 4 edges and 1 face in the .blend. This is the whole point of Linked Duplicates.
Oct 6 2020
Do we know what the problem is?
Oct 3 2020
Random guessing and no research says you are running up against maximum path length on your platform.

Your .blend crashes for me on Linux when I try to open it.
If you need Import Images as Planes, go to Edit->Preferences->Add-ons and enable it. Then click Save Preferences. Easy peasy!

In Blender, the order of command line arguments matters. See the section Argument Order in the help text ( blender --help)
Cannot reproduce on Linux.

Random guess says: Your object is being imported to a location where you cannot see it - either out of the viewport, or not visible with Clipping Start/End settings.
Sounds like a video driver problem.
Sep 16 2020
'Clip' is both a verb AND a noun.
Calloc returns null: len=3221225472
the strangest thing is that in all my backups (That were saved as copies of the document) also suffered the same change and although I clicked undo many times nothing happened and 6 hours of work went into trash

Cannot reproduce. The only Curve in your .blend is BezierCircle. It seems to convert to Mesh via Object menu or Right-click Menu just fine.
Sep 3 2020
Make sure Clip Start and Clip End are set properly.
Also, a .blend showing the problem would be nice.
Aug 24 2020
I'm seeing a bunch of similar errors (Illegal Address, Misaligned Address) with Linux Nvidia 1660 and Nvidia 450.57 driver.
Do you have a .blend showing the problem?
Poking at this a bit in Linux 2.90 Beta, it seems to be a refresh issue.
Aug 23 2020
> the animation stops and freezes at the 50 line mark to the 250 mark
Aug 14 2020
Along with providing a .blend, you might want to test this with the current 2.84 release, preferably from blender.org.

Your .blend works fine here - Linux, nVidia 1660, nVidia driver.

Jun 8 2020
Extrude the plane a bit to give it some thickness.
You might also reduce the sim step size, but I didn't play with that.
Jun 5 2020
Do we know the names of the addons that do not install?
May 27 2020
Glad Blender is working for you. I'll go ahead and close this.
Looks like a video driver issue. Updated drivers are (usually!) always a good thing.
May 10 2020
Are you trying to Import (read existing file ) or Export (write a new file)?

In the Properties panel, go into Render Properties->Film and click Transparent.
Feb 24 2020
Your .blend seems OK. Did you bake the smoke?
Feb 11 2020
Likely a video driver problem.
Updated video driver is usually a good idea. Preferably from the card manufacturer's site.
Feb 6 2020
Closed as being a known issue or limitation. Thanks for reporting.
Feb 2 2020
Your error message is about trying to set the audio rate. Not fatal.
Jan 19 2020
Let's not be grumpy! The goal here is to find and fix bugs. But to do that, we need to be able to reproduce the problem. That is not always easy. One thing I have learned doing QA is that "identical systems" are not always identical.
