I did roundtrips for gltf, fbx, colldada for the standard setup. None of them did a good job of preserving the shader. It would be nice if it were achievable to remedy this. Adding those adjustment nodes would only complicate that. The goal should be to make the import as convinient as possible while preserving the_correct_PBR_setup.
My suggestion would be to remove the gamma node for roughness (isn't a colorramp more usefull anyway?) as well as the multiply node connecting AO and base color.

I think it may be beneficial if manipulator widgets had the ability to display some kind of tool-tip.
When there are many visually nondescript arrow widgets on screen it can become rather confusing as to what they actually do.
Having Tool-tips (always or maybe only when hovering over them) would imo drastically reduce the
time to get comfortable with what may become a multitude of official and community supplied manipulators.

It seems to have been an issue with old startup file.
I reset to factory settings and resaved that as startup.
After that the problem did not reoccur.

Maybe i should move the tags into the addonprefs so they become user editable?

- added auto invert node for glossy roghness maps
- naming list for map selection should be ok now

I think i have rewritten most (maybe all) according to your recommendations.
It now always just opens a file dialog to allow picking of files.

As requested i removed the duplication (Codewise)
Image settings and render settings are now taken from the scene settings and no longer a per pass option. (As expected this is not liked allready)
