UPDATE: There is a new switch in the latest 2.90 build in the render settings panel to toggle openimage denoise, I tested it and found out that the 2k render with that option toggled is denoising just fine (though generally slower), while the denoise node is still making it black. There is something unique to the node that is causing my problem.

Can confirm that the 2020.5.1-june10 driver works on my Radeon RX 590. No artifacts.
Odd that it did not work for AranMoreno though. Maybe the issue is more than just GPU-related?

After figuring out what DDU was, I downloaded it and used it to reinstall my driver. RESULTS: The first attempt to render my test scene Blender crashed, But not my computer this time. ( YAH! ) 2nd time was successful however I did get a few white dots in the render. So I tweaked a few settings and and 3rd time I got a good render at 1080p and in ~3 min. Really Cool. Less than half the time as in 2.82. So next I tried the classic BMW render. I only sat through about 8 min. of but stopped the render because it was estimating 30 min. render. Too long. But what it had rendered out at that point looked good. No artifacts.
I'm no programmer, but I would recommend going over the render code one good time to make sure everything is correct. But that's just me. Hopefully this problem is fixed. I'll know after using it a few days.
Now if only I can fix my view port problem and things will be perfect. I do thank ya'll for your time and help.

20.7.1 seems to have fixed most of the stuff - altho there's some memory corruption going on ( random pixel sampling / crashing / video corruption ) if out of core rendering is used with blender 2.83.2 on Polaris / Win10.

Open CL is now 3110.7 on 20.70.1, It is definitely solved in rx 590 and rx 580, I am not sure in other rx 5xx or rx 4xx.

I'll try running the new drivers and blender 2.83 before the polaris blacklist. Will report later, hopefully they revert this change.

Open CL is now 3110.7 on 20.70.1, It is definitely solved in rx 590 and rx 580, I am not sure in other rx 5xx or rx 4xx. So we are using all the capabilities of Opencl 2.0 if we are using a driver higher than 3075.12? @Evan Wilson (EAW)

@Arturo Rangel (AranMoreno) I am glad to hear that it is fixed for you. @Brecht Van Lommel (brecht) has set this workaround to only affect OpenCL drivers 3075.12 and lower. Can you upload your system-info-txt file to show the OpenCL driver that the AMD driver 20.70.1 has? I don’t have the hardware to check it myself.

yes, I have two 1080Ti, I correct this in the master task.
I double check again and I can confirm that with my PC configuration, enabling “Hardware accelerated GPU scheduling”, the GPU rendering not work anymore causing freeze of Blender.
My current PC configuration is a little bit old but everything run fine until this latest Windows feature.
Actually my PC config is:
Motherboard: MSI X79A-GD65-8D
CPU: Intel i7-4930K
RAM: 32GB Corsair
HDD: 4 x 1TB WD RE4
VGA: 2 x ASUS GTX 1080Ti Founder Edition
PSU: Corsair 1200 Watt
DISPLAY: 32" Philips + 27" Asus connected by HDMI to one card
All latest drivers installed, evertything run fine.

This appears to happen with CUDA, and not OptiX. CPU rendering with BVH2 works ok as well.

AFAIK both OptiX/OIDN need noise-free normal/albedo passes too (I know for sure for OptiX). In this case the best solution I can think of is to use the OptiX denoiser with only the color pass as input (so to not confuse it with that albedo/normal data). That's currently only possible to select for final renders though (in the render layer properties), not for viewport denoising (which always uses color+albedo).

Could you check if the problem happens with 2.83.2 or 2.90 Alpha daily build. There has been an issue of cycles animation rendering randomly crashing, that may or may not be the cause of this. The problem was fixed in those versions.

I guess the problem here is the heuristic used to determine where along the path to record the normal. Due to the Fresnel effect, the relative weights of the diffuse and specular parts change with viewing angle, so at shallow angles the code treats the surface as specular.

Oh, wow just checked w/ GPU Z and it says Polaris 21. Revision FF ( Whatever that means ). Ok, so how do I find Pro drivers for this thing ?
*Update* Well, don't I feel like a dummy. I just found it. I'll try it out and update this thread when I'm done.
