hi, just some ideas here, I see there's only some settings really needed in the addons preferences, it would be better imo, only to have the needed settings in the addons preferences & add the icons to the icon viewer panel. this would keep existing behavior with your enhancements & the button for the pop up. the search "icon" brings the pop up quickly too. other thing, to keep existing behavior copy icon to clipboard on bt default.
one last thing, the placement of the icons in the text editor panel is most useful for people who develop addons in blender's text editor, as there is instant visual connection & easy of use.

Some apps do not have the concept of bones (with a length and orientation), they only have joints (which are points with orientation). That’s precisely why you'll find, in importer’s settings, Armatures section, the options Force Connect Children and Automatic Bone Orientation.

hi, need some more information, where did the model come from?
after downloading some random models after a too long search for .psk models, the two I tested worked ok.
The armature was good & model was posing well.
I did see the textures were not imported correct & this needed some setting up in blender to manually add back the textures.
Not sure if this is a bug without information on your file & where you got.
It's not possible to support all versions of these files created by the various other software that handles them could be the issue here.

I think all the boolean modifiers used by this addon should explicitly set the solver to "CARVE". The default "BMESH" solver in Blender 2.78a breaks Line Rebools that are entirely enclosed by the target mesh and in other cases. BMesh doesn't seem like it should be the default, either, if Blender documentation is correct. Here's a patch for my update.

hi, there's issues here with the Bit type, depth & distance. this causes holes in the mesh where the bit type is inserted.
this would need to be fixed before i can look further.
it's solid concept, code looks ok,, just this one issue to solv.

Ok, based my experiments yesterday, I think I can use the AD FBX SDK to write a simple bit of code that will chop the file down to the minimum required to reproduce this scenario, resave it as binary, and submit that.

Adding yet another option is annoying, but cannot really see any way to decide whether we always want to impose render or preview modifiers in those case so… guess will add yet another option :/

The problem of such file is that it’s practically unusable for investigation & debugging. What I need here is the simplest possible file reproducing the issue (that is, something like three cubes parented in a chain, or something like that, with no animation, etc.). Then I can try to understand what’s going wrong here.

Like it was said, the io_scene_open_street_map.py is in the addon_contrib folder. If you download a developer build from the link given above,, don't forget to enable the Supported Level > Testing filter on the left. All the add-ons in the contrib folder are by default under that tag.

The Open Street Map add-on is available only in the development version of Blender, inside the folder ...\2.78\scripts\addons_contrib\io_scene_open_street_map.py and you can get it by simply downloading a development version from here.

https://builder.blender.org/download/ has downloads for nightly builds.
i tested looptools & each tool it contains & found that there was no error related to Global Undo turning off.
i have come across the global undo bug before in bsurfaces, so I'm familiar with it, it's just not appearing for me in this case.
