As the code is done, changing amount to float, it does weird results. "uniform int amout" is the real solution.

Your uniform value for amount is set as float in shader, but declared as integer in camera properties. Now, thing is, before 2.76 (commit rB97b431e4) all shader uniforms were binding as floats, but it's not what you always want so proper int/float binding was implemented. What happens in your scene is that binding uniform fails because BGE tries to bind it as integer, while it is float in shader itself.

This bug is fixed in UPBGE in this commit: 3b9afe545f49d8cc47fd4ae895db5dab1fc88325. I noticed blender developers about this issue and get no answers on the way i'm fixing it.

As I know the BGE use the cube map only to render object refections and still not render a background cube map. Actually Blender only render it in the viewport but not in the BGE.
I think you're confusing that with UPBGE where world background rendering is working.

Your normal map is in tangent space, and UV map is essential to calculate the tangents. Don't really see bug here.

@Dalai Felinto (dfelinto): I'm not sure if that's needed for GLSL because it disallow us to share easily material between meshes if it depends of the image in the mesh UV. This report is very old and wasn't very active, maybe we should close it.

Maybe replace string by constants is better, e.g BL_Shader::[VERTEX/FRAGMENT/GEOMETRY]_SHADER_TEXT

Is this fixed?
A flexible 5 texture terrain base With 2 uv layers would make for a single draw called terrain that could have quite a bit of detail.
