System Information
Operating system: Windows 10 Home Build 19044
Graphics card: iGPU on Intel Core i7 1185G7 (Iris Xe Graphics)
Blender Version
Broken: 3.1.2
Short description of error
I downloaded a 3D model from TurboSquid of an Aston Martin Vantage (the model is free, find it here ) and the viewport has strange dots at object edges when looked at through the partially transparent glass. I tracked the issue down to the alpha of the Glass material in
Properties > Material Properties > Viewport Display
, the dots only appear when the alpha value is not 0.0 or 1.0.Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

This looks like the same problem described in #83022 (Transparency in Solid View Causes Glitch Artifacts).
But this one must be another one because the GPU is not from AMD.
Please double-check if the drivers are up to date and the hardware meets Blender's requirements: https://www.blender.org/download/requirements
To upgrade to the latest driver, see here for more information: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/troubleshooting/gpu/index.html
I'm on the latest drivers and I meet all the specs except for the screen resolution. The problem appears to be an entirely different problem, as the glitch on the other issue affects the whole object, but this one only occurs on edges.
Also, this one doesn't have anything turn black or cause any other issues, just the dots. Can this be reproduced on GPUs other than Intel or is it exclusive to Intel?

Can you provide the
system-info.txt
generated in {nav Help > Save System Info}.So we will have a more complete information about the GPU.

system-info.txt
Here's system-info.txt
Thanks for the file. I'm not able to replicate in your uploaded file. Will check again today with iGPU
Does this happen after you load factory settings?: {nav File > Defaults > Load Factory Settings}
I'm not sure if I'm looking in the right place, but looking at the intel website, apparently there are newer versions of the driver:
https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download/19344/intel-graphics-windows-dch-drivers.html?wapkw=1185G7
On the website we see
31.0.101.3222/31.0.101.2111
while in system-info.txt it says that the driver version is30.0.101.1340
.I'll try the driver update now and update when it's installed
Issue persists on 31.0.101.3222.
I'll try factory settings in a moment as well, forgot to do that before
Issue persists on factory settings.
As this appears to be exclusive to Intel graphics so far, potentially just Iris Xe graphics, I think it would be a good idea to report it to Intel. However, I can't figure out where I'm supposed to report it, if anyone knows that'd be helpful.
Strange that, although it is common for
Intel Iris Xe graphics
users to report problems on this channel, this is the first case of this issue with this GPU.Although this is a driver issue, developers can provide "workarounds" in the code to work around these issues. They only need to have access to similar hardware first.
I tagged the #eevee_viewport team anyway.
It appears to be a problem in Workbench, in Rendered view it doesn't appear in Cycles or Eevee. Only Workbench. I fixed some settings, here's an updated scene that renders correctly in Eevee but not in Workbench.TransparencyBug.blend
Can not reproduce either with integrated GPU (checked in 3.3 and 3.1.2)
