System Information
Operating system: Arch Linux, Windows 10/11.
Graphics card: RTX 2070, RTX 3070Ti.

Blender Version
Broken: All version 3.0 - 3.3.
Worked: 2.93.

Short description of error
Material Preview mode is very slow. It wasn't that slow before.

Even with a small scene, it's slow.

  1. Open a model.
  2. Z -> "Material Preview".
  3. The preview window moves jerkily.

There was no such thing in version 2.93, everything there is much smoother.

  1. Do you have consistent perfomance drop, or only after you start eevee/lookdev mode?
It is better to make screencast video.

  2. Are you sure, all drivers are fresh and Blender see GPU properly?

  3. May be there are shader compiling?

  1. When I press Z -> "Material Preview", it switches the window to the material view mode on objects. At this very moment the performance drops dramatically and when I spin the model it moves jerkily. I can't record a video because I have a contract for all the models I have and I can't show them.
  2. There is nothing wrong with the drivers and GPU. The same scene in Blender 2.93 opens smoothly.
  3. All the shaders are compiled. I first of all wait until the shaders are compiled, and then I do something.

If there is no way to somehow recreate it on public resources, then fix it ... how?

I opened the blender, waited for the caching to finish. Then I switched between modes and rotated the view around the model.

Use blender demo files for video.
If the issue appears only with certain file, you should make research and find what minimum combination of details will produce the bug. Combine similar with free assets.
Then upload file with issue for public test. Otherwise, there is no way to find and fix it.

I agree with you. I will try to make a file that I can upload here so that it can be viewed and analyzed. But I am also sure that there is something useful in the logs I sent.

How can I see the amount of FPS in the view window? So that I can visually see and send the file with the biggest performance drop.

You can set fps of scene to 60 and start animation, so fps counter will be available.

Otherwise you should use external tool like Riva.
