Muted node only passes through on last connected ouput of type #102920

System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.22621-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 517.40

Blender Version
Broken: version: 3.3.1, branch: master, commit date: 2022-10-04 18:35, hash: b292cfe5a9
Worked: Unsure. I tested all the way back to 2.83.20 and they all have the same problem

Short description of error
If a muted group node has multiple outputs of the same type only the last connected socket will pass through the internal link the result of the node before it.
connected_muted_group_node_bug_example.webm

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Open the attached blend file
  • Set Rendered viewport shading mode
  • Connect different socket outputs on the mutated node to the Material Output node.
Some of them will not work as expected.
Not until you reach a socket that is linked to another node will the internally linked input pass through.
Ex: Output socket 0 (first color output) will appear black. Sockets 1-3 and 8 will show blue as expected. Same with the value sockets. The first 2 value sockets (4 and 5) will show black when previewed. The 3rd value socket (output 6) is connected and shows blue when previewed as well as all following value sockets (outputs 7 and 9)

Using the Node Wrangler shortcut {key Ctrl Shift LMB} to cycle through outputs makes it easier to reproduce the problem.

Hi, thanks for the report. I don't think I understood the issue completely. Please elaborate more about it.
AFAICS internal links are correct for the node and transferred material also seems correct.

I can confirm the problem in Cycles.
Sometimes it works. Using the Node Wrangler shortcut {key Ctrl Shift LMB} to cycle through outputs makes it easier to reproduce the problem.
I'll edit the report description to make this clearer.

You have to have something connected to the output sockets for the bug to show itself. See my example
