crash with automatic weights #31940

%%%I had a person model, and I had selected groups of vertices, duplicated, alt-s enlarged, and then separated them into separate objects for clothing.

I then added an armature. The person model worked fine with the armature and two of the four pieces of clothing also worked fine. However, the other two would crash when I clicked "with automatic weights". I thought it might be because the vertices of the clothing intersected the person model and it was having trouble calculating that. I tried enlarging them to make sure this was not the case, even moved one away from the person model and it still crashed. Envelope weights worked fine.

Eventually I deleted those pieces of clothing and redid them in the same way from the person model. Since this already had the parent as the armature, this worked fine.%%%

%%%The gloves are actually hidden, but I tried to delete all the other objects so it was a simple test.

If you unhide the gloves, click the gloves, shift click the armature, do parent, click automatic weights, it crashes.%%%
