%%%Fixed in svn.

Dunno how your file got into this state. It shouldn't be possible to create such situations...%%%

%%%I don't know what to say.... Well this particular character has been through a lot, but the skeleton has always worked, it never crashed blender before.

When I first made it (years ago), there was a problem with the x-mirror not working.

  • So I deleted half the skeleton,
  • and then duplicated the object
  • then renamed all the Rs to Ls
  • scaled negative 1 x-axis
  • joined objects
  • then the x-mirror worked fine.

Recently (in 2.5) I have had to do the same process when I made hands that contained drivers for animations and constraints.

  • duplicate, then -1 x-axis scale, then join after renaming the hands
  • I would join them to the main skeleton in object mode

but after all that, the armature had worked fine in every stable release from 2.49 up to 2.63

Once I saw 2.64 didn't like it, I tried deleting the animations, and deleted the hands, and it still wouldn't work.

I hope that helps.

%%%Fixed in 2.64a

My file functions normally now :)

Not sure how,

What can I do to repair my file? You said it was in a bad state. Is blender 2.64a just accommodating my file?
should I fix my file (even though it's working now)?
And if so, how would I do so?%%%
