Texture connected to velvet shader causes crash on viewport render #33152

%%%Tested in r52086 on Ubuntu 10.10 with 8GB RAM, AMD CPU, no qualified GPU.

  1. Download both the TextureCrash.blend and Pattern.png files to the same directory on your computer, say the Desktop (the PNG is assigned to a texture node with relative path).
  2. Open the blend, no need to untick Load UI, as the file was saved after Factory Defaults, saves you some clicks.
  3. In small 3D View at the top right, you should be looking through the camera, Solid mode.
  4. Change to Rendered mode - crash.

The crash is caused by the texture connected to the Color input of the Velvet shader. If you disconnect it, viewport renders fine. If you reconnect, you get a crash again.%%%

%%%It's not boost, it's something how node stack is being compiled -- at some point bsdf's color input is offseted on 255 position, which seems be out-of-bounds or so. Not so familiar with shader tree yet, attaching simplified scene and re-assigning to brecht.%%%

%%%Any chance of having crashing bugs such as this one fixed before 2.65 release? You guys have worked hard on squashing many bugs recently, but it would be a shame if the most stable release in the 2.6 series was still prone to crashes, especially when it's something as obvious as this bug.
