The Cell fracture add-on shows up under the history tab in the toolbar. This tool has nothing to do with history, adn should be moved to a more suitable tab.

@ideasman42, assigning to you since it's easier for you to make tweaks to script you're maintaining :)

@JonathanWilliamson, @brecht are still to provide feedback about panels and so tho. Keep poking them ;)

For Cell Fracture I suggest one of two things:

  • Put Cell Fracture into a Tools tab, which will likely also be populated with the regular tools, based on the same proposal here (but for Object mode): https://developer.blender.org/T37568 Going this route should wait until the Object Mode tabs are finalized.
  • Alternatively, rework UI on the addon to move it into panels, within it's own "Fracture" tab. Currently all of the fracture options are presented via a single pop-up when clicking Cell Fracture.

So what is the plan here now?

So what is the plan here now?

Unless anyone objects, let's put it into the Physics tab. I think it makes the most sense there.

We do not have a "generic" Physics panel currently… Just moved Cell to the Edit panel in Tools tab for now, we can check for better solution after 2.70.
