Short description of error
when I load a image with alpha channel that is not displayed.
i must create a texture and check on "use alpha"
when working with cycles , it is very laborious
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
open an image in uv/image-editor with alpha-channel
no alpha is displayed
Changed status to: 'Open'

Just switch to 'alpha' view? Last three button in header of image editor…
excuse, the error description was not complete. create a new file and switch to cycles. then it no longer works.
Getting same results here for either cycles or BI. Suggest you add here a small .blend file demonstrating the issue…
i am so sorry.
i have tried again, and the image is displayed with alpha when i open in image-editor. but when i use the add on "import images as planes", no alpha was displayed.

Yes, precision helps indeed… Can confirm issue with that addon, will fix.
