Blender actually imports the geometry as well, but has trouble updating the mesh.

So we only get a bunch of verts:

BLI_assert failed: /blender/source/blender/blenlib/intern/edgehash.c:95, edgehash_bucket_index(), at 'v0 < v1'
BLI_assert failed: /blender/source/blender/blenlib/intern/edgehash.c:155, edgehash_lookup_entry_ex(), at 'v0 < v1'

So confirming an issue and claiming for now, will check later... [.lwo might as well be corrupted? @Urbick does this import into other applications without problems? where has this been exported from?]
