Weird cycles render glitch #63441

Operating system: Linux-4.18.0-17-generic-x86_64-with-Ubuntu-18.10-cosmic 64 Bits
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 980 Ti/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 415.27

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.80 (sub 55), branch: master, commit date: 2019-04-09 10:54, hash: 32f3d47990
Worked: Master 2.80 builds from 2019-04-06

Short description of error
It's hard for me to describe since I don't have any clue... But what I can say is that in viewport I can see the animation is ok, the boolean modifier is working and everything updates as expected but when I change to render mode the chocolate egg jumps to I don't know exactly where... It seems that the rim vertices from solidify stays in place but the other vertices go crazy...

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Just open the attached file(It's a final production file without textures) and playback the animation, everything is ok...
  • Change to render mode or just hit F12 and you will see the glitch.

After some more tests I think I found where the bug is... When I disable the "Auto Smooth" option under mesh property panel the glitch is gone and everything works fine like in the workbench engine... I still don't understand it since I'm not a developer but I know that it's related with "auto smooth" option.

Can not confirm the issue yet, but see some assert failures which might be affecting on it.
