System Information
Operating system:MacOS Catalina
Graphics card:

Blender Version
Broken:2,83.1 with Archipack in use
Worked:

Short description of error
Grouped objects "balloon" outwards
I want to make a model of a big multistorey hotel atrium like the Hyatt Regency.
I made a second floor (with walls and pillars modeled from primitives and one Archipack stairway.) I wanted to duplicate this floor many times.
I tried to join these objects and their dimensions ballooned outward. (see screenshots)

glassBldgWithElevator.blend

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file (as simple as possible).
Take the attached blender file and select the upstairs floor and all pillars, walls and stairs attached to it.
Try to "join" them.
(note: in this particular file this is easier to do if the object called "1stFlAndWalls" is hidden)

It looks like your objects have a scale value that is different from 1, 1, 1. If you select your objects that you want to join in object mode, then go to Object>Apply>Scale and now join them as before it should work fine.
Closing as this is not a bug.
