Short description of error
I've tried everything your manual says, but I am unable to get it to mirror a simple volume let alone when I get more complicated. I enabled it in the addons, and tried selecting a cube then turning mirroring across the z axis and it's a no go, not sure why, but it's not working. I really like what your trying to do, please fix this or at least make it easier to use, there are two things a modeling app must have and should be simple to do, #1 be able to easily add a reference image to the back of a view for example front. Next is to turn mirroring on easily. These two should be user stupid friendly.
