Blender Crashes at Random After Clicking Anything After a While #88661

System Information
Operating system: Windows-10-10.0.19041-SP0 64 Bits
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 466.47

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.92.0, branch: master, commit date: 2021-02-24 16:25, hash: 02948a2cab
Worked: 2.8X.X

Short description of error
Crashes seemingly at random. Can't figure out the cause (debugging Blender isn't my thing). After about 30 minutes to an hour Blender would crash when clicking anything.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Use blender for a while and it will suddenly crash after clicking somthing.

Simplifying the blend file would be a big task because the project I'm working on is a big track for Assetto Corsa, especially when I can't pinpoint what exactly is causing the crash. But, I did run blender_debug_log.cmd and received two text files that might be of help. I've uploaded my entire project for now. The blend file that I am experiencing the crashes is hou-i-ten.blend.

Issue is probably resolved in other blender versions. Please try 2.93.0 or 3.0.0 alpha .

I assume the report is duplicate of #85977 (NVidia: Random crashes in 'DrvPresentBuffers'), but do provide the crash log and try to reproduce the problem with latest blender versions as well.

Oddly enough it doesn't seem the debug output wrote anything resembling a crash. I'll run blender_debug_gpu and see if it logs a crash this time. I even searched my whole system for a blender.crash.txt file and nothing came up.

  • First open blender_debug_log.cmd which located in your blender directory
  • Reproduce crash here, after crash 2 files will be created.
  • open blender_debug_output.txt, at very end of the file you will find the location of crash.txt

I guess this will help you to find crash.txt file

@austint , can you please update the current status? Problem is still there for you? I will close the task if you fail to update here in a week :)

@PratikPB2123 I have updated to 2.9.3 and I haven't seen a crash issue so far. Also before updating to 2.9.3 it seemed like the crashes were becoming less often for some reason. I think for now the issue can be closed.

now the issue can be closed.

Ok then. You can re-open or create a new report if problem appears again. Thanks again for the report! :)
