To repro from scratch:

  • Open default scene
  • Select cube then {key Alt D}
  • Select the "Cube" and add RigidBody

In the attached .blend, select one of the red books and add a Rigid Body sim.

I can reproduce the crash.

Introduced somewhere between 6afafc46f6 - 7223a0348f

May be, high priority issue? Will find the culprit.

(I really doubt about the bad commit, will double check but changing the priority since this is regression and crash)

Hi @Sergey could you look at this? It seems it was introduced by your commit. If confirmed go ahead with confirming as a bug and claiming the task.

@dfelinto , still hard to say if that's the correct culprit commit.

I have bisected this multiple times because the crash does not happen on every attempt (sometimes 3-4 trials are required)

(For almost 2-3 times git bisect pointed me to this commit 956c539e59 so I think this is the first bad commit)

@PratikPB2123 are you building with ASAN? It makes it easier to catch those crashes.
