System Information
Operating system: Linux-4.15.0-142-generic-x86_64-with-glibc2.23 64 Bits
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti/PCIe/SSE2 NVIDIA Corporation 4.5.0 NVIDIA 465.24.02

Blender Version
Broken: version: 2.93.4, branch: master, commit date: 2021-08-31 09:23, hash: blender/blender@b7205031ce - Also 2.82.7, 3.0.0 alpha (42546db49089)
Worked: 2.83.17, 2.90.0

Short description of error
When power sequencer add-on is turned on, the "Save" Pie Menu does not appear when Ctrl-S is pressed in the VSE.
This is due to key conflict with power_sequencer.save_direct option of power sequencer add-on

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Open default startup.
  • Change editor type to Video Sequencer
  • Enable Interface: 3D Interface pie menus
  • Hover over the sequencer and press {key Ctrl S} (pie menu will appear)
  • Enable 'Power Sequencer' addon and repeat the last step (this time pie menu won't appear)

Hi, thanks for the report. I am not able to reproduce the described issue on 2.93.4: 7ec351c0d531

Try again with factory settings: File -> Defaults -> Load Factory Settings.

Hi, The problem doesn't happen with factory settings loaded. There is something in the attached 2.78 startup.blend file (which was created from the 2.78 factory settings) which is propagated through blend files based on that startup file even when they are created by later versions of blender.

Hi, thanks for checking. Try: Edit -> Preferences -> Save & Load -> Load Factory Preferences (it won't change the startup file)

In case that does not help to fix the issue, provide userpref.blend file located in C:\Users\Pratik\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.93\config\

I've loaded factory settings then opened an existing blend file, I then have to enable the Pie Menu addon (most of the addons are disabled BTW).

Now pressing Ctrl-S while the mouse pointer is in the VSE "Strips" area does bring up the "Save" pie menu. However, something is obviously causing a glitch when I don't load factory settings - the fact that the problem only occurs in one specific place in one Editor indicates that there is a bug somewhere which is being triggered by something in an old but uncorrupted blend file.

As I have mentioned, this is similar to blender/blender#87010.

Hm, that startup file does not cause the issue for me.
As @PratikPB2123 said, please provide the userpref.blend as well.
(alternatively -- if an Addon is the culprit -- you could try enabling Addons one-by-one to see if any of them starts causing the glitch)

The problem only occurs when the 'Power Sequencer' addon is enabled - even in v2.83.17.

  • I deleted my 2.93 config directory.

  • Started blender 2.93.4 and I disabled ALL addons except the '3D Viewport Pie Menu' addon and the problem did not occur.

  • I then enabled the 'Power Sequencer' addon and the problem occurred.

  • I re-instated my original 2.93 config and just disabled the 'Power Sequencer' addon and the problem occurred.

In 2.83.17 I did not have the 'Power Sequencer' addon enabled originally so it work, but enabling it causes the problem.

HI, thanks for investigating. Don't think the startup file of older version is required. I can even reproduce with default 3.0.0 startup file.

This happens due to key conflict with power_sequencer.save_direct of power sequencer add-on.
Nothing to do with user interface module. Changing shortcut for either option would solve the issue.
