Worked: (newest version of Blender that worked as expected)
Addon Information
Name: Material Utilities (2, 2, 0)
Author: MichaleW, ChrisHinde
Short Description
I clean some objects to eliminate materials that are not present. Blender randomly assigns materials to parts of the mesh
I select an object to clean, in which there are unassigned materials. Run "clean material slot" but then it makes the mistake I am talking about.
In version 2.93 it works perfectly
