After using 25 UNIQUE images in a shader, it stops working. #98001

System Information
Operating system: Windows 11
Graphics card: RTX 3080

Blender Version
Broken: 3.2.0 Alpha
Worked: N/A
Short description of error
While I was working on my Kirby model/rig, I found out there was a limit to how many unique images can be put onto one shader.
Before (currently 24 different images):

After adding 1 more image texture:

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
You can use the default setup for this, all you need is 25 unique images plugged into an output all together (i.e. using mixRGB)

NOTE: THEY ALL HAVE TO BE SINGLE-USER
This also does not change cycles at all, this seems to only be a limitation in EEVEE.

Hi, thanks for the report
This is probably hardware limitation or EEVEE limitation. I get this error in console Too many samplers are used in this shader, exceeded limit gl_MaxTextureImageUnits

This is a limitation, not a bug. The driver reports the number of sampler units are supported by the platform, when maxed out the shader doesn't compile and a pink color is shown.
