Blender Image Sequence Not Updating in 3D Viewport

OS Version: Windows 7, 64 bit
3D Card Type: Quadro FX4000
Blender Version: Latest Official 2.62

If I hook OFFSET for image sequence to be driven by Custom PROP, I found that the GLSL Texture is not updating on the 3D viewport. Is this normal?

The PREVIEW on the Texture panel is updating though. The work around for this is to scrub in the timeline panel.

Is this issue possible to be fixed in the near future? Thanks.

It's not actually normal but it's not simple fix in fact. It relies on dependency graph and animation system which is currently a bit crap and needs proper redesign. We're aware of this issue (and several other issues which are related on this) and they're already in our list of things to resolve. But currently i'd wouldn't actually consider this is a bug, just some limitations of how blender works.
