%%%In game engine, faces generated by the solidify modifier with the index offset not equal to 0 are invisible. If offset=0 it works.

%%%It seems that the data converter forgets to convert materials used only for the solidify modifier when starting the game engine.
%%%
%%%Umm... Probably the data converter has to convert all materials linked to the object if the object uses the solidify modifier, because the material index offset might change while the game engine is running.
%%%
%%%Since r47039, solidify modifier can be used to set up double mesh for toon edges:
http://projects.blender.org/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=31579&group_id=9&atid=127
but this bug prevents us to do that in game engine.
%%%
%%%This bug is in the game engine, so please move it to BGE bug tracker or change the category into "Game engine".%%%
%%%Moved from Blender 2.6 Bug Tracker to Game Engine%%%
%%%I'm gonna have a look around in the code :)%%%
%%%Seems like it works here. Maybe it's already been fixed
Could you attach a blend file?%%%
%%%Hi,
Attached Solidify_modifier_bug_in_BGE_converter.blend .
Additional surfaces generated by solidify modifier using "Material Red" will disappear when starting game engine.
r49491
%%%
%%%Attached another example Solidify_modifier_bug_in_BGE_converter_Toon_edge.blend .
In 3D preview, toon edge is rendered by red lines using solidify modifier, but it disappears in game engine.
%%%
%%%Can no one fix this bug?%%%
%%%Applying the modifier makes the red faces show up fine for me. It's generally a good idea to apply modifiers before running the game engine rather than leave them on, since modifiers aren't really supported fully. Perhaps that is a feature request - for modifiers to be applied automatically when one runs the game engine. Otherwise, I'm not sure if this can really be filed as a full-on bug.%%%
%%%As a work around, you can add a face inside the object and assign it the second material. This face can be scaled to zero so you will never see it. However this is enough to get everything converted properly for the modifier to work.%%%
