I create a variety of objects using a python script
For each of these, replace the mesh with a different, for each object
useDisplayMesh = True
usePhysicsMesh = True
What happens is that the DisplayMesh are replaced correctly, but is not assigned correctly the PhysicsMesh
Please see the attached example of blend file with the complete script
As you can see from the file, all objects take on a different DisplayMesh but all have PhysicsMesh of the last object created

The objects are all sharing the same physics mesh. The replaceMesh() will change the mesh for the object and all objects sharing the same physics mesh. This means your last replaceMesh() determines the physics shape for all of the shared physics meshes. I'm not sure if this is a bug, or a limitation of the physics system.

I'm going to say this is just a limitation of the system and not a bug.
