That kind of video is not really helpful for us… Trying to start Blender from the command line would probably be more interesting, as you may be able to read error messages…

That said, did you update all your drivers to their latest versions? You could also try with the current dev version (daily builds available from http://builder.blender.org/download/).

You mention that you are using win64-vc11, which is an experimental build from builder.blender.org. Does the official 2.69 release from blender.org and the official build from builder.blender.org also fail to open?

I just downloaded the video and went frame by frame. The Message is:
"Error: Failed to read blend file 'C:\Users\Kin\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\2.69\config\userpref.blend', not a blend file
Writing : C:\Users\Kin\AppData\Local\Temp\blender.crash.txt"

Hi, I have the build from the 27th, and I have the same problem except I am on Mac.

Here are my specs:
13 inch, late 2009 MacBook with a 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, and 320 GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive, running Mac OS X Mavericks.

I have followed the steps on this page: http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:Doc/Building_Blender/Mac, however, blender does not automatically start after building. It says the build succeeded, but nothing happens. When I navigate to where it creates the .app, I can see it exists, but the .app has a white "no" symbol on it, and when I double-click on it, it brings up a little window that says, "You can't open the application 'blender' because it may damaged of incomplete." When I try the terminal, I get a more specific error. I cd to the directory, and then "open blender.app," and it says, "The application cannot be opened because its executable is missing." As far as I was aware, that was the executable, because the instructions tell me to "set executable to 'Blender.app'" in Xcode, so I put "blender.app" in "Executable file."

I am not new to Xcode, but I am new C programming in Xcode.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

P.S. I'm not actually sure if I am opening the right .app. Am I supposed to open the one in build_darwin, or the one in the cmake folder I made for the Xcode project? Because the one in build_darwin opens properly...

@shoffman: I'm guessing you need to set the install target.
http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:Doc/Building_Blender/Mac#Generate_XCode_Project_files

But we better not discuss Blender build issues in this same bug report, that's a very different issue.

I can open blender 2.69 now.

I uinstall blender 2.68 and install 2.69, now the problem is over.
