Hey everyone,
I just noticed this today. Any ideas?

Short description of error
Triangulate modifier doesnt show triangulation in edit mode when "Apply modifier to editing cage during edit mode" is on
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Add a plane or any other object, go into edit mode> Add Triangulate Modifer> Enable "Apply modifier to editing cage during edit mode"
triangulate_modifier.blend

That's a known issue I believe. @ideasman42 may know better why modifiers that create new geometry don't work well in 'cage' mode, I don't remember the reasons
Changed status from 'Open' to: 'Archived'
Can see why this looks like a bug however theres not really a way this can work well.
When your editing the cage you only see original mesh data, and since the edges created by the modifier have no edge on the mesh they map to, they dont display (as with subsurf).
How it worked in 2.68 is fine tbh, mate. It's really pretty important to see how geometry is triangulating so you can fix errors by modifying vertex positions or by changing edge flow etc. without having to apply the modifier.
In an ideal world people could rotate edges and store their positions actually within the Triangulate modifier but I think that is quite a bit of work to do.
Can we get this reopened please?
Cheers,
