Short description of error
In "Object mode" there is an area inside de "Tool shelf" of the 3D View called "History" which includes the following buttons: undo, redo, undo history, repeat last and History... But in "Edit mode" the following are not showing: Undo, redo, undo history
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
As you see it is not exactly a bug but UI inconsistency because those commands are able to be runned inside that mode.
It would be great to have them the same way that are displayed in the "Object mode" because you can place them separately of other tools.

Just a visual image of what I have explained before:

Issue is this adds buttons into panels that are already quite large, editmesh for eg.
How about have a history panel for editmodes too? (can use common parent class and subclass for each mode),
@JonathanWilliamson - what do you think?
Didn't we had a History Tab even?
I think having a dedicated History panel could work fine.

Sorry for being late on this, but thanks for the update @mont29. Even though Edit Mesh panel can be large, the consistency is better now.
@ThomasDinges we had a History tab for a while but it got scrapped in favor of fewer tabs I believe.
