System Information
Operating system and graphics card

Blender Version
Broken: 2.71 release candidate 2
Worked: 2.70a

Short description of error

For the moment, I'm stuck using the integrated Intel G41 Chipset graphics adapter so this is probably as low end as it can get. Being a developer myself, I know that generalizations are nearly useless for bug reproduction but unfortunately it's the best I can do .... the program crashes, and crashes a LOT, during "normal use" on very low end hardware - where most GPU functions have to be software emulated. Symptoms make this look like a buffer or heap overrun; in my experience these usually cause crashes when the memory block is released. Sometimes I will get the Win 7 error dialog. Other times it just freezes. It is a memory issue of some kind because the longer I work, the higher the likelihood of a crash, and the crash is never the same twice. The latest crash made the entire video go black. Nothing but a hard reset could fix it. So again, it's memory issues and probably buffer overruns. Working with 3D text on highly intricate (i.e. curly) fonts will cause the crash to happen the fastest. I apologize for not being able to be more specific, but this is a very general error that can be reproduced easily when most or all GPU functionality must be software emulated.

Thanks for the report, but issues with crappy Intel 'GPU' are not new, their drivers are more than often buggy… We can't do anything about it really.

Closing this as known issue not in Blender, you ca&n check for sure that it’s the driver responsability by running Blender in full software OGL mode (just place this dll next to Blender.exe), should not crash anymore (but will be slow as Hell!).

If I get a real video card like I NEED TO I won't have this problem anymore LOL! Thank you!!

If I get a real video card like I ***NEED TO*** I won't have this problem anymore LOL! Thank you!!
